Loved the atmosphere but the food was not great, fairly small and overpriced. The wurst platter for nearly $20 only comes with two small sausages which taste worse than the bratwurst and weisswurst I purchased at Aldi. The schnitzel was smaller than my hand which is a third the size of what I would get in Germany. The cabbage was good. The spätzle was small and dry. Overall not the worst German restaurant I have been too, but as far as food goes... not very good.

This may just be a cultural thing, but the food was... Maybe authentic and just not my cup of tea? i.e., the green beans were an overcooked mess that seemed like they were plopped out of a can, but that may be authentic to German tradition and how someone else expects them even when the food is a little pricey. We had the pretzel and then the Weinerschnitzel and the cod, which came with two types of cabbage and noodles in separate dishes. The pretzel was kind of awful, the top was caked in rock salt (not kidding). The noodles were lukewarm at best with no hint of seasoning, the cabbages were one of those things that weren't my cup of tea. The schnitzel was OK but unseasoned, small and too tough -- but the fish was off -- most of it was fine but then got to the freezer-burned part like it was defrosted in a microwave. The black forest cake was devoid of chocolate flavor, but did use real whipped cream and looked pretty. Server was nice, but they were having to cover too many people. There might be someone for whom this reminds them of home

Reminds me of trips to Heidelberg and Frankfurt. Food is authentic. Friends say the german beer is good. Desserts are large. Had a couple guys playing live music inside. Enjoyable!

This was an excellent meal and the staff was friendly and fast. We had the special of stuffed cabbage and the German Sampler. So much food! I wish we would have saved room for the Black Forest cake because it looked devine.
I have never had a better jagerschnitzel in my life. I won't pass through Staunton without stopping to eat here.

Stopped here on a whim and couldn’t be more pleased! The restaurant is adorable and easily accessible from the highway - the people are super nice and welcoming - and the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves German food or anyone just looking for an enjoyable experience!
