My daughter and I had breakfast on a Wednesday morning. Everything and everyone was great. My husband and I decided we would try out the dinner so we went on a Friday evening. Wasn't so busy when we got there, but as time goes on it begins to get busy. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and he ordered a BLT the food was ok. Service was mediocre, maybe because we are an interracial couple. After giving the waitress his check card, I witnessed what I assumed was the owner ask if she had gotten their money, she asks which ones. His reply "The one with the black one". I'm not so naive to believe that racism does not exist. In the 33 years that we have been together we have never been to a place where I have felt unwelcome. Needless to say we have decided we'll never go back.

Inexperienced people working at this restaurant caused poor quality food and mediocre service.

This place closed a while ago to make some adjustments and never opened back up. It's a shame too. It was a nice little "locals" place.

Just what we need in this city…. And in every city- a charming, lively watering hole offering entertainment and delicious food, served with a smile and a handshake

Literally watched an employee get assaulted and yelled at by the owners wife. Unacceptable…….

Great live music venue, beautiful patio, happy hour specials and delicious burgers, fries and pimento cheese dip!The owner was gracious enough to open a half hour early to accommodate our work happy hour!!

The food is a bit high priced and the drinks are extremely high priced. The signature cocktails are about $11. They are extremely tasty, though. Just not $11 worth of tasty. There is no liquor on the bar that is less than $12 a shot. They do, however, have a very interesting selection including some off-the-beaten-track liquors such as Diplomatico rum! It can be difficult to get their attention to order. There are very few vegetarian options, though this is typical for the area. It would be nice if they broke the mold, though. The fries are great. The veggie burger is kind of bland. It's a nice place to see live music, especially when it's warm enough to see it outside. Inside is a bit cramped and often it's impossible to find a seat, but that's part of its charm. It was worse before the remodel and reopening. The available space is put to best possible use.Vegetarian options: Not enough options and the one entree - the veggie burger - is bland. The fries are really good, though. The pimento cheese is served cold and is consequently hard. It's impossible to dip the toast it comes with and spreading it on the toast is challenging. If there are any other vegetarian options I can't recall them.

If I could give it negative I would. The owners wife just physically assaulted one of their kitchen staff on the outside terrace!!! What kind of clowns are running this place. Don't give these abusers your money!!

Marino's is a long-standing Staunton establishment with a completely new look and feel. A community gathering place, music venue, and place to get great eats. While small, the space is well designed and offers plenty of seating, including a party room. All our dishes were well prepared, made fresh, and were exceptional portions. It all was a cut above. Okay it was extra!Parking: On street parking in front, across and beside Marino's plus an overflow lot across the street behind the restaurant.

Marino's has been around since 1917 and it has that atmosphere of warm hospitality, music, and character. There's imagery of Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan, for example. But there's also lively images of the musicians that play at Marino's; the kind of images that show this has been a place of gathering for a long time. Service and food are both great (go with the sweet potato fries, you won't be disappointed). When it's warm, there's outdoor seating. Don't be deceived when you walk in, there's another room to accommodate additional seating. There's street side parking, but also a marked lot nearby.

We've been coming to Marino's since they re-opened and have enjoyed every experience. Their new menu and vibe is exactly what the North End is missing. However, I went in around 4:00 on Friday for a beer on the way home and the place reeked of smoke. Not like the kitchen staff might be hitting one out back, like someone inside the restaurant was actively smoking. It was so overpowering that another women at the bar loudly commented, as I walked in, "why does it smell like weed in here". I don't mind the odor and understand it's legal, but would prefer not to have a drink in an ashtray. The bartender responded with "well some of our clientele...". I dismissed it as no big deal until a gentleman came from the back room to the bar with a pipe with weed in it in his mouth while he paid his bill. A few moments later an obviously more mature member of the staff stands in the door to the back room and says something like: No. don't do it inside. Or just let me know so we can step outside and do it together. It then became clear that she was complicit in the large group in the back smoking in/just outside the restaurant. I, like most people, prefer not to eat in an ashtray. Based on our prior experiences, I don't want to give one star, because our family has had great experiences there, but this time made me think twice about bringing my young children back, and this particular experience would absolutely merit a one star review.

Went for the Tuesday night jam. Stayed the entire evening. Had a great time. Nice food and beverages, good service. If I lived closer, I would be a regular.

I was urged by a girlfriend to go and try out the burgers ? there. I finally got the chance and was not at all disappointed! It was delicious ? I got whatever the dbl was with cheese the way it was described on the menu. I added sweet potato fries which I didn't get but that's ok the regular were ok. The bar is fabulous. I ordered a negroni which is one of my favorites, and the day was nice so it was a great choice and she did a wonderful job.

Absolutely love the atmosphere. They've done a beautiful job with the place...unfortunately, I came here to eat and the food, overall, was subpar.Staunton has a lot of great restaurants with excellent food and Marino's will either have to up their quality or adjust their prices to compete. I truly hope that happens because I hope the best for this place!
