I love pubs and im always looking for new ones. Sadly I've been here twice and the food has been over cooked and all I've ordered is a burger and cottage pie, don't know how you mess that up. I do wonder if the business treats their employees well do to the look of exhaustion and sadness in their servers/bartenders faces.
My husband and I had dinner at Hawk & Griffin, and we were very impressed with the food!
We ordered the fish and chips and finished with the bread pudding. The fish was deliciously crispy, and the fries were fresh and very well seasoned. Their tartar sauce is also delicious, and I loved that they had malt vinegar available at the table.

I love this spot, it never misses. They have a good gin program (the little passport is a good idea, well executed), the vibes are so on point (doesn’t take itself too seriously while still being both cozy and classy; a hard balance to strike), and the food is great. Fish and chips, pies, the Sunday roast — I’ve never had a miss on the menu. I wish they’d open up another location in Alexandria!
