Best home cooked meals in the valley. I went there yesterday to get the pork chop lunch and it was great. 2 large pork chops, cabbage, Mac and cheese and a roll for 13.99. Mine was so good I asked for another to take home to my wife for dinner. check their Facebook page for dailey specials.

The best fried chicken in Vinton! Easy to-go options. Location beside the old Cundiffs.

Food was good ol' home cooking. Generous portions at a reasonable price. Husband had meatloaf, roll, mashed potatoes and green beans. I had grilled chicken with mashed potatoes, green beans and roll. Both were delicious!😋 Save room for dessert, the pumpkin pound cake was very tasty. But, the best part was David! His sense of humor was terrific. Great Food Friendly Folks running the place

Seven months ago, I gave Smileys a glowing five-star review because the food and service were excellent. Unfortunately, that experience is long gone. Tonight’s visit was such a disappointment that I’m removing four of those stars.
The food was unacceptable across the board. The mac and cheese tasted metallic with a burnt Kraft-like crust. The fish sandwich resembled a microwaved frozen patty from the supermarket. The fries had zero flavor — no salt, no oil, nothing. The green beans we purchased to take home were so bad they were completely inedible. The only redeeming item was the chicken tenders, which my daughter enjoyed — and that’s the only reason this isn’t a zero-star review.
Cleanliness was just as bad as the food. The floor was filthy, and multiple tables sat dirty and uncleared from the time we arrived until the time we left. Service was inconsistent at best, with long stretches of being completely ignored.
For a $40.87 meal, the experience was beyond disappointing.

Bottom line: Smileys has gone from being a standout local spot to one of the worst dining experiences my family has had in years. Even my five-year-old voted against returning. Unless drastic improvements are made in food quality, cleanliness, and service, this place is not worth anyone’s time or money.

Food is good and cooked to order so be patient and allow the time. (Fried chicken allow 30 minutes). Portions are more than enough.
Service was very friendly, accommodating and they definitely make you smile.
Atmosphere was like a family diner.

Came here on 7/16/25 at 11:30am with 7 people in wheelchairs after we called a week ahead and gave the date and time we’d be there and the doors were locked and no one was there even though the website said open and we had spoken to someone prior. Definitely never even going to try this place now considering how unfair this was for us and our residents.

We've been wanting to try this place for a while & was finally able to. Food was really good, staff was very nice, enjoyed the Christian music that was playing. Pound cake was a little dry but other than that, we really enjoyed everything. Will definitely be back.

Quality of food is not the same under new management. The food I had recently from their establishment was ok, not great; they close at 10pm but I got there a little after 8pm and they had ONLY a few small pieces of fried chicken (no other meat), baked beans,, potato salad, string beans, and a hard corner of mac & cheese which they charged full price for. A 3 out of 5 stars is accurate.

Was not accessible to me. I am in a mobility chair and there were no ramps to get over the curbs. And I went completely around the entire building looking for one.😡

Owners are very nice and they have good food!
