Well hate to say it but as others have said, place definitely has roaches. I had little legs on my spring rolls ? the rolls were not tasty they had a very sour taste to them. (I was eating them before I saw the legs) I usually get them at the one on Volvo but this was closer today. It seems none of the locations are consistent with item preparation.Would not come again.

The place was not very welcoming. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted, but the son of whomever worked there (must've been in his 20s but clearly had a mental disability so I don't fault him in particular) started yelling out loud and touching my missing arm as I was trying to order. Not a single worker intervened or apologized or anything. I then decided to just brush it off as it is definitely the people around him that have failed him.Now on to the ordering process. I originally asked for 2 small #4 bowls with spring rolls. The man up front told me that they did not have any smalls (I looked at pictures of the menu, and it had them there, but I was not gonna press the issue), I reluctantly asked for larges instead until I found out it was going to be $50.Mind you, I am an optimist, so I am still fine with the strangness, and I opt to just get 1 large. Now, the weirdest thing happened while I was sitting down. First, though, I wanna say I am not making any accusations or assumptions, just mearly going to write down what I saw. An older caucasian gentleman walked in with a young vietnamese girl. He then started yelling for the older lady in the back, asking where she was. A different man walked out from the back and told him to shush while waving him over. They then spoke quietly amongst themselves while seemingly aware I was watching, and then the old lady came out as well. The caucasian man saw her and said, "Here you go! She is all yours now!" and walked out.I will reiterate that I am not making any assumptions and only typing what I witnessed. Finally, the food. The broth was a lot more "gingery" than I am used to with pho, and the beansprouts had a funky smell. The only saving grace was the fresh spring rolls, which is why I gave them 2 stars for food but 1 star for everything else.Safe to say, I will never be coming back. It even prompted me to write a review, which I almost never do.

Review of Pho 79 Restaurant: An Unforgettable ExperienceWhen choosing a place to enjoy pho on the weekend, my family decided to stop by Pho 79 in the hope of finding not only delicious bowls of pho but also a warm, friendly welcome. However, our experience was not as expected. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we felt a cold, unwelcoming atmosphere. The wait staff's attitude was even worse: no greeting, no minimal attention you would expect from a restaurant. With just one gesture, they signaled us to sit down without any warmth or invitation. When receiving the menu, there were no introductions or questions about drinks or dishes we wanted to try. Everything happens mechanically, making us feel like we are not welcome here.I have visited many pho restaurants everywhere and always appreciate the politeness and friendliness of the staff. This not only makes the food more delicious but also makes the dining experience memorable. It's a pity, Pho 79 couldn't do that. The experience at Pho 79 left a not very positive impression in our hearts. It's not just a disappointment in the service, but also a feeling of not being appreciated as guests should be treated. Hopefully, the restaurant will recognize and improve its service level so that no one has to experience similar emotions. This review is based on your personal experience and feelings, highlighting the problems you encountered when eating at the restaurant. Hopefully it will help the owner realize and improve his service in the future.

On a cold and windy day went in and ordered two bowls of soup. the small one and a large one for myself and a friend. The amount of soup was extremely plentiful. We both had leftovers. Also, their fried egg rolls pork were the best I'd ever had. The reason I gave a four on service is because they do not speak any English, and if you don't repeat the number pertinent to the dish, you might have some language barrier in placing your order. This place is a little Hideaway but it is very good and very plentiful. I will be going again.Vegetarian options: Plenty of dishes to pick from that are vegetarian or you can even request to eliminate the meat.Kid-friendliness: Friendly atmosphere, no alcohol and very large for seating of all sizes of families.Wheelchair accessibility: Large front door entrance large enough for wheelchair and motor units.

1/6/24 - My husband said he used to come here for lunch at work all the time so we decided to stop by to eat lunch. We were seated and then asked what we would like. They had to come back because we didn't really have a chance to look over the menu. They didn't come back for another 15 minutes so I felt we were a bit forgotten. I ordered the chicken pho which is one of the favorites on the menu. But I have to agree with it being my favorite, it was really good. It tasted like chicken noodle soup but a pho take on it. It came out pretty quick after ordering. All the utensils are on the tables already. The soup spoons do not look clean. I used my nail and noticed residue came off. All the spoons were like that. After we ordered our food, no one ever came to check in on us. Since no one ever came to check on us, I wasn't able to ask for a plastic spoon. When you are done you pay at the counter. They have some nice merch you can buy as well. The food was really good and even with the service not being the best I would still recommend to stop by and get some food

I have been here many times. It's the best pho in HR. And the service is real fast too. You can also tell because lots of Vietnamese eat here too. Awesome every time.

Pho 79 is a great experience. I love to order B2. It's chicken skewers with a rice paste salad. If you haven't tried it, give it a go you won't be sorry.

Always had the best experience here. From greeting to ordering and eating! We haven't actually had a sit down experience yet due to having kids who don't like to sit and eat while out. But the customer service is always great. The food has not yet disappoint me in anyway! As I was sitting waiting for our food, I just realized they have a play area set up for kids and a picnic table.

Best Pho in the area. Our go to for a cold and rainy day meal or when under the weather. The hilltop location is much nicer but the original one is the best food.

Pros:Bun bo hue noodles were very good and chewyVery large portions of meat in both pho and bun bo hueCons:Broth is not up to par to traditional tastesFirst, take my review with a grain of salt as I'm from the DC area (large Vietnamese community with Eden Center) visiting my family here and my wife is Vietnamese (raised and came to US recent years). My wife and her friends normally cook pho at home, but she's been sick and craved Vietnamese soup on a rainy day so we tried this place out. She got the pho and I got bun bo hue. Immediately, she noticed the broth is too dark and commented the pho is out of the box (pho broth is normally a little clear). I noticed tons of meat and noodles were good, but my bun bo hue soup tasted diluted/watered down (probably less spicy for the local demographic). My wife also said that there were strips of pork in it which is not standard as bun bo hue is spicy beef noodle soup (mine had both beef and pork which may have altered the taste). The restaurant had tons of space, had a great family atmosphere, food came out quick, and service was good. Overall, we were hoping for better. I admit I enjoy seeing the more Asian restaurant variety that's popped up in VA beach as it used to be soo limited when I lived here and wanted to show support, but we weren't fans of this place

Pho 79 Vietnamese restaurant has a variety of delicious options. I first tried Pho 79 in 2006. The Vietnamese Spring Rolls are tasty. The Vietnamese Egg Rolls are so good. I usually order the Pho Tom which is noodles soup with chicken broth topped with shrimp. This Pho 79 franchise is located near Pembroke Mall and Town Center in Virginia Beach. Plenty free parking spaces. This Pho 79 franchise location has the best authentic Vietnamese food. There are several Pho in Virginia Beach, I asked the significant of the different numbers behind Pho. Several owners said the number is based on the year their family arrived in the United States. Others said the Pho 79 restaurant honors a famous Pho restaurant in Vinh, Vietnam ?? ?. Pho 79 food is great. The service is good and fast.
