Our first trip here and we drove 40 minutes from Norfolk just to try this place. Arrived just before 4 for a very late lunch. The place is impeccably clean, the lighting is nice, soothing music and only one other table. He got the steamed shumai and the Sorpporo East roll and hot sake. I got a Carnation roll and Firecracker roll and Sho Chiku Bai Ginjo Cold sake. Expansive menu. Everything was just so good. It was hard to decide what we liked the most. Great service from Jenny...
This restaurant is near my house, but I had never tried it until now. I ordered the sushi deluxe, and it came with chu-toro (fatty tuna) — it was amazing! I was really impressed with how they sliced the fish; it reminded me of authentic Japanese sushi (I’m originally from Japan). I wish I had tried it sooner, but I’m sure it’s going to be my favorite sushi restaurant from now on.
Sapporo East is hands down THE best sushi and eastern cuisine at the beach. Just delicious food and excellent service. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. So happy it’s close to us so we can go every week, and we do, lol.
