After a long day of doing a hail mary--a six-hour roundtrip drive up to the DC area and back while moving down to the Hampton Roads area--I thought about the place we had seen just a few days before: Seafood Kitchen. I placed an order while we were on the road, so by the time of our arrival, our food was ready. I had Seafood Kitchen years ago at the height of the pandemic as a carryout meal. I remember the good was I ordered a Shrimp and Catfish deluxe platter of mac and cheese with a side of collards. My shrimp and catfish were decent. They had a good crunch and texture, but the seasoning could improve. The same goes for the mac and cheese, and the collard greens tasted quite bland. I understand that the food is halal, but halal food is still supposed to be well-seasoned.

Believe reviews. Places do not receive 3.8 stars without a reason.Will definitely not come here anymore. Would do better at a Non-Halal restaurant or just wait to eat halal wings in DC.Not great customer service. Prices are not as advertised and you still have to wait, even when no one is there.The saddest part is that it’s Super Bowl Sunday so you’d think the place would be packed for wings but guess not.The craziest part is that the woman behind the counter says they charge for sauce on hot wings when they are advertised as having a selection of choices without having to pay. Her response or excuse was because they have to purchase their sauce; so what does that really mean?Her husband made excuses for why the prices in the pamphlet were different from the board…Nevertheless, when the food was ready, the lady said she gave me the sauce for free. My concern is that it should be on the advertisement; it was clearly not.By the way, the wings were appeared somewhat overcooked. Drove all the way over here for this. It tasted okay but unfortunately it will be a while before I return to this establishment.

The fish was perfectly fried, perfectly seasoned ,moist and tender and flaky.Wings were saucy as requested and fries were fried just right. I am thoroughly impressed and I’m not easily impressed.!!! The picture represents what the oyster appetizer looks like. The packets are the tarter sauce.The oysters are decent but the fry was a little too hard for my liking.
It definitely isn't consistent with previous seafood kitchen experience.

Their seafood platters and fish sandwiches are delicious . I've tried several sides and must say i appreciate the different side options. I must say that my favorite thing to order now, is the "Chicken over rice"!!! OMG, ive never had turmeric rice before but it is SO good! It's my #1 item to order. Try it...also ask about their other protein options (lamb, shrimp and chicken). They also have "extra meat" options as well... check it out!

I will never spend my money at this place . The young lady was very rude I ask to change my order less then a Minute. After I ordered. She did not even have time to give me my change back and told me I could not change my order ,and all I wanted was a bigger order of the same think. She then gave me the wrong change. When I told her she said I gave you $35 I said no you gave me $25.she ask for the $5 back and she gave me $10 I told Her that not right either. She said Hold bro pull up bro and then proceed to start complaining about me. Anyways she was very apologetic Before I leave when I told her I was gonna write to review. I am not sure how the food taste . I am just talking about my first experience there.
