Update from below, Founder's inn/Swan Terrace reached out to me, refunded my card and sent me a gift card. I appreciate the new management taking care of this and look forward to their brunch. 5 stars

Great Easter brunch service and food, but unfortunately since being charged twice for the brunch, is why I had to leave a review to a 1 star.

We made the reservation using my credit card. Day of brunch, we were told that my card was never charged, so my dad decided to pay for the brunch. Me and me father were both charged. I was charged under Swan Terrace, he was charged under Founder's inn. I have called and spoke to supervisors three times being assured that this will get fixed and I would receive a call or email, but I have never been followed up with. I am currently disputing the charge with my Credit Card company since this establishment is not able to provide adequate follow up. This happened on 3/31/2024.
I will gladly change the review back if management can actually reach out to me to adjudicate this issue.
Still no update September 2024

Good service, nice dining room, dreadful food. Trained chefs should know to use the right size plates for the dish. Salad bowls were overfull making it difficult to eat without it falling out, salad was poorly cut and presented. French fries were cold, fried shrimp was overcooked. Fried fish was overcooked and inedible. Pasta dish with shrimp was $30! Presentation was terrible. We didn't complain because it was husband's birthday, but neither of us ate our food. The complimentary ice cream for his birthday was a nice touch. The food was a disappointment and it's such a shame because it's a nice place and the service was fine. I've heard similar reviews from friends, but wanted to try it anyway. We won't be returning.

Had breakfast outside. Only ones outside for breakfast. Beautiful surroundings, and especially since the weather was great! Breakfast buffet had everything anyone would want, including pumpkin spice pancakes and scrambled eggs/cheese. All in all, could not have been better!

We went to the buffet for our 58th wedding anniversary and our granddaughter came with us. She has just graduated from Regent University. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. We love coming there.

The service - from the host desk to the end of the meal - was impeccable. The variety, quality, freshness and flavor of the food was outstanding. It was the best experience at the Swan Terrace in quite a while!

We went on a Friday not knowing what to expect as we had never been there before. OMG. the waffle station was soooooo good. You pour your own batter into the waffle maker but it was probably the most delicious waffle I have ever had -topped with whipped cream (homemade?) and fresh blueberries. There was a sky high mountain of bacon, fresh fruit, pastries, bagels topped with eggs and cheese, home fries and plenty more I didn't have room for. Complete with coffee and juice and we had the most wonderful server, Emily. Thank you for a wonderful "birthday" breakfast for my friend and I.

Love Swan Terrace. Have been there several times but this trip was a little disappointing. First the bloody mary was not the best I've had. The roasted Brussel Sprouts were seasoned good but were hard. The rest of the food was very good. I plan to go back as this could've been a new chef. Our server was great. Always on top of things.

Sehr unflexibeler Service.

We were there for dinner, and tried the Quesadilla, Founders burger (with bacon jam!), Chicken Ciabatta, Strawberry Salad, Crab Dip and Molten Macaroni and Cheese. All of it was very good, well seasoned and well prepared. The Macaroni was the standout dish: we had tried just a side of it, and it was like a delicious truffle-flavored cheese pasta: a side was just $6 and was quite substantial. I would go back just for that! The dining room was very quiet, so we were able to talk and enjoy ourselves. I think they sometimes have a pianist who plays there? The prices were not bad for what we chose. We did notice that there were more pricy items, upwards of $25, but ours were all around $15. We tried the bread pudding and Peach cobbler, both very good. They have an appetizing pizza for just $10 which we tried. It was pretty good but paled in comparison to all the other dishes. I wouldn't specifically order pizza there again, but it was by no means bad tasting: good to have it as an option.

I reserved seating for 26 people for a birthday dinner on July 21st. I made my reservation with Breann who was extremely helpful and pleasant. I immediately received the email for pre fixed meal choices for a group of my size and a children's menu. I gathered everyone's food choice and sent it back earlier in the week. Upon arriving on the 21st we were greeted by the manager Michael and he took us to our section. Our wonderful servers, Kay (?) and Madeline promptly attended to us. The serving of the meal went so smoothly because they had everyone's days ahead of the event. I am so thankful for that pre fixed dinner menu. The food was absolutely hot and delicious. Everyone was so pleased with there food choice. Kay, one of our servers, was such a sweetheart! Kay was authentically sweet personable, kind, and on top of everything and every need before the need was needed. Kay gave excellent service with her beautiful spirit and smile. There was never a need for anything because Kay was right there but she was never in the way because we were still able to enjoy each other. Once, everything was over people trickled out a few at a time, while half of us still ended up in the parking lot talking. Michael, the manager (with the pretty blue eyes) came twice, with a few things we left behind because of the way we staggered (not drunk) out a few at a time to walk our elders out and forgot to grab things thinking we were coming back in. Michael, thank you for going out of your way to do that. My family's experience was but exceptional! Most of my family had never been here before..but I have come to The Mother's Day Brunch several times. I have received several emails and text of how everyone enjoyed their delicious food and the atmosphere. I was even told I did a wonderful job. I can't take that credit. All thanks goes to Breann, the chefs, Michael, Madeline, and mist importantly Kay! Kay, please continue to give the exceptional, genuine, and personalized customer service that is so authentically you.! It was a pleasure being served and fed here at The Swan Terrace. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Ever since my wife took me here I've been coming back to the Swan Terrace. Same romantic ambiance mixed with classic luxury. The staff is always super professional and very attentive. Brunch was spectacular! The freshly made omelets are a must for any brunch. I left so full and happy. Great time spent with family.

My husband took me and my kids here for brunch. It was delicious, but didn't know the coffee/orange juice came with the brunch until later. Our server didn't mention it. My kids didn't eat much unfortunately wasn't too appealing to them. I was hoping for pancakes/waffles or French toast for children. It was very nice other than that, and a beautiful restaurant/hotel.

I took my daughter to lunch on 6/27/24 to Swan Terrace. The food was awful! The steak was a hamburger patty with sauce on it,the cod was pink and tasted like salmon . The chicken was dry. This was a super restaurant in the past but quality has gone down and many in the area in Tidewater have noted it.
