Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Virginia Beach

“Have been coming here now for almost four years, we've been to some of the other tropical smoothie shops around town and hands down this is the best location in terms of quality and consistency of smoothies made, well made hot wraps, courteous staff, and a generally nice/clean location. I believe the owner of this location is frequently on the floor helping out (not 100% sure if he actually is the owner, but his demeanor and leadership would make it appear so, if not hats off to the only non young teen gent working), and I think that's why this location tends to be the best running and all around one we will always opt to go to even if it's out of the way. Speaking of younger staff, the majority of the crew here is in the younger adult category, but they have always been respectful, well groomed and well dressed,and they seem to step up into being a mature and professional group while on shift. Pointing out the age group specifically at this location as they are well put together (in my opinion from leadership differences and setting expectations/an example) which is in stark contrast to the other stores where employees of a similar age group (but also in general) are often nonchalant, seem that they could care less about another human or quality service, hats on sideways, shirts and baggy pants, letting dirty tables and trash over run the place (namely the VB Blvd location in Collins square, food safety violations galore). Mainly pointing this all out 1) to let other customers know that this is the location to pick over the others, but 2) for the staff if they happen to read this so they know their efforts and professionalism are noticed and to keep it up! “I absolutely love this location! I was helped by Ania at the register and she was so unbelievably kind, patient and thorough. She was courteous and considerate with every person that walked through the door, which at one point I saw an entire teenage sports team walk in while our order was being made!

The team didn't even bat an eye or show an ounce of stress from being busy. Bree was incredible with her multitasking, speed and efficiency all while teaming up with Isaiah for the perfect handoff and final interaction. Love love LOVED my experience here! You folks are absolutely incredible and I look forward to coming back! Thank you so very much!!!

This last visit we ordered Blimey Limey and Mocha Madness and we had zero regrets. I also adore Sunrise Sunset and its usually my main go-to smoothie, but I was feeling a bit rebellious today and craving that chocolate! What can I say? I enjoy living dangerously.
I HIGHLY recommend trying one of them!!!

“The food is good however the Caribbean Jerk wrap is spicy. Not normal spicy like eyes watering i might throw up spicy. However I champed it out and afterwards my sinuses, eyes and throat feel amazing super clean and fresh so im giving it a 5 star review because the endorphins from eating this wrap have me feeling better then the adrenaline rush from running and surviving 17 hungry hyenas and 32 lions. Will experience this again“

Still love Tropical Smoothie—but disappointed in the sneaky cup change this week.

We’ve been loyal customers at this location for a long time and usually love everything about it—friendly staff, great smoothies, consistent quality. But lately, we noticed something really disappointing: the cups have changed. They're noticeably shorter (about an inch), and the new design has a deep dip at the bottom that gives the illusion of the same size, but it's clearly holding less smoothie. Ill add photos for reference.

We get the same drinks every time, 3x a week faithfully, so the difference is obvious. It feels like a sneaky way to cut corners without telling customers, and that’s honestly frustrating. We’d rather pay a little more than feel like we’re being shorted. It’s misleading, and it feels like a quiet attempt to cut product while hoping customers wouldn’t notice.

We still love Tropical Smoothie and hope this was just a temporary supply issue or something they’ll reconsider—but please don’t underestimate your regulars. We notice.“

“We go out of our way to go to this Tropical Smoothie it’s super clean and everything is always delicious. Today they forgot the whey protein in my shake and the owner delivered a new smoothie to my house! Super impressive! I wouldn’t go anywhere else“

“I began a detox and reducing schedule. The service here in the morning is fab! As I rush to the office, my fresh smoothie is available for pickup asap. The workers are pleasant and advise to “Have a good day” once I leave. It’s small pleasant things that I enjoy. This is my favorite smoothie location. Great job guys. “THE best customer service hands down!
My husband ordered from this location via door dash, but unfortunately the doordasher forgot our smoothies. My husband called TS, and Mary offered to have one of her employees to deliver to us without hesitation! Super cool and I want to give a huge thanks to both Mary and her employee!

Also, I've worked next to this location for about a year and we always order at THIS TS specifically, even though it's farther than the other location, because they make their food and smoothies better than any location we've been to.“

“Went around 7 pm and ordered some food , the cashier jayshawn was very helpful, patient and nice. My friend went to the bathroom and my food came out. The girl said there would be no orders for 20 minutes so about 4-5 people left the establishment because they couldn’t order. I asked jayshawn hey it’s not fair i got my food and my friend who wanted to eat here in first place can’t order. He took my order and the girl started arguing with him saying they’re backed up. I only saw 4 orders on the screen,once she ordered her food came out in 5 min so it couldn’t have been that backed up to yell at another employee for doing their job. Also the trash was overfilling… b
But anyways thank you jayshawn for the great customer service ! Only reason I’ll leave a five star review or will return to this establishment thanks to his customer service skills.“

“Everything was great. But this “the machine’s going to ask you something” request for a tip is getting a little irritating in these days. I’m always happy to give a tip when extra services is done, but this expectation of tipping in a shop where the customer walks to the counter, orders their food, is “guilted” into a tip, then picks up the food themselves, and busses the table is irritating.“

“Absolutely loved my experience at this Tropical Smoothie location! It was the perfect day to enjoy a mango smoothie, and Tropical Smoothie did not disappoint. The smoothie was deliciously refreshing and just what I needed. The staff were incredibly friendly. The place was spotless.“
