We enjoyed an early Sunday dinner. The food and staff were fantastic. Our table ordered an appetizer, two entrees, and drinks. Everything was cooked well and delicious. Union Ale House happened to have live music when we arrived; the musician was great. We'll definitely go back.
A real tavern with a broad selection of beers and good food! Flat Breads were an unexpected treat. We ordered two different breads and found them both excellent, generous servings. We stopped in during the off peak mid-afternoon Friday and were happy to find plenty of seating. It looked like a perfect place for an afterwork gathering or lunch.
We really loved how quiet and peaceful it was inside. It was easy to sit, relax, and have a conversation without any noise. The other guests were polite and respectful, without shouting or making a lot of noise. The portions were huge, and the prices were very reasonable. The food was simple, fresh, and delicious. The service was outstanding—truly the best we've experienced anywhere in Virginia Beach.
