This is a great way to spend afternoon in Williamsburg! Very detailed tour through all stages of bourbon production and charming property with history. From the beginning you feel enchanted with wooden entrance, chandelier and cute foxes figurines. Bourbon tasting after tour was a wonderful treat with discounted price when you pay for tour. Highly recommend this tour for adults.
Very cool venue and decor. Really loved a few of the whiskeys and the rest were okay. Only a couple we didn't enjoy. The cocktails are creative and delicious. Definitely worth dropping by. Would probably hang out here if I lived in town.
Loved the tour!
My wife and I found this last year but didn't have enough time to visit the distillery last year.
Thankfully we remembered and made time to come over to have a great informative tour with a very fun and personable tour.
The icing on the cake for this distillery is the drinks at the bar!
I had the whiskey flight and old fashioned flight and both were great!
The drink i most enjoyed was the lavender old fashioned!
What a wonderfull place 💪😘😘, and good drinks for every moment 👍🤟
Excellent tour and venue! I loved that there were mocktail options for myself. My husband loved the tasting flights and we both thoroughly enjoyed learning about the process and specifics of the distillery!
My brother told us about Copper Fox as he and my sister in law stayed at the former Lord Pageants Inn many times in the '80's. What a fantastic time we had. Scott (one of the owners) did our tour. He was fabulous. It was so interesting to hear and see how whisky and bourbon is made. It was a blast from the past that this was a hotel at one time and now has been repurposed for the distillery. Thank you Scott!!!! Keep up the GREAT work ❤️
My best friend and I visited last Tuesday. We were impressed immediately by the historic look of the old motel. Our server was excellent. Pretty blonde and im so bad with names but she was so knowledgeable on drinks and pours. We both definitely enjoyed ourselves and I even bought a bottle of the single malt. Definitely recommend and will make a return visit.
Disappointed is an understatement. Purchased a barrel kit to create immediately following our wedding ceremony. The barrel leaked a bit but we’d read that was normal and decided to check back when we returned from our honeymoon. It was no longer leaking so we assumed it was good to go with just a minor loss. Here we are 10 months later, it has whiskey fungus (unsightly but again, normal) but it’s COMPLETELY EMPTY. The metal rings around the barrel have come apart and the nozzle fell right off. Extremely poorly made and ruined a memory for us that we can never recreate. Purchase your barrel kits elsewhere!!
An excellent distillery with Old Fashioned flights and spirit tastings. Our teenagers were welcome and it was perfectly chill for a Saturday afternoon. Be advised there is a drink maximum so you aren't able to try both flights and have a cocktail, but its definitely a place you could come back to again and again.
Copper Fox is a must stop for anyone who enjoys whiskey in Williamsburg. Their tours are thorough and enlightening and their tastings or a simple drink from the tasting room are great. I didn’t have any of their food but I watched it get prepared and was very intentional! Stop by or miss out!

Gabriel was an amazing host! The tour was very informative and Gabriel answered every question professionally and whimsically! If you're in the Williamsburg area and enjoy a great whiskey or bourbon make sure this is part of your stay!
We come here often from #RVA to their fun events! The drinks are wonderful, and the staff is so friendly! Their Luaus are a great way to transport yourself to Hawaii here in Virginia!
I’ve done distillery tours before — most notably in Scotland — but I’ve never had one as informative or as enjoyable as the one Gabe gave us at the Copper Fox this afternoon. It’s flat-out amazing that anyone could turn an abandoned motel into a functional distillery, but that’s what they’ve done. And Gabe made sure we understood exactly how painstakingly their whiskey is crafted. But what I love the most about the Copper Fox is its celebration of Virginia and her agricultural abundance. Who needs Tennessee when we’ve got a quality whiskey right here in the Commonwealth?
I came to this distillery for a weekday tour while visiting Williamsburg. The buildings are so cool (formerly a hotel with several detached buildings). The tour was $10, super interesting, and totally worth it. The bar is nice and service was great!
A great experience, the staff are awesome and the whiskey is high quality.
