Book with anticipation, I booked with almost 3 months and I was close not to get a reservation. I had a great time. I went for my anniversary and they gifted me a nice card and the musician played us a song that George Washington played for his wife. The food was really good. The menu will give you references from the actual recipes. My husband had Tomas Jefferson champagne and it was really good. We had for dessert Egg Clouds and it was delicious! I highly recommended. The service was excellent and you'll go back in time with the restaurant vibes.

I ordered the BEEF STEAK... Seriously, I've never had a more disgusting piece of beef in my life. It was the worst cut of beef I could imagine. Chewy, over-cooked, gristlly, and SALTY as heck. I actually think the cook threw this beef in a salt bin. I've eaten at the King's Arms Tavern on numerous occasions and usually the food is fair to decent, but this time I think they had an idiot for a chef, and an idiot who purchased the beef from a garbage bin.

This was a wonderful experience! George is an outstanding waiter and explained how things were in the 18th century as we went through dinner. The food was excellent in both presentation and quality.

Great place to eat. Loved the life music during the meal. The food was excellent. Nice service, with the explanation what we were eating and how was it prepared. Little history about the place. It seems that everyone in the room was very impressed with the meals. I recommend the “King's Arms Tavern to everyone who enjoy the good food and little story telling.

I took my sons and their partners for a truly wonderful evening. Our server knew as much as any docent and told anecdotes about dining in Colonial Williamsburg while we ate. And there was a minstrel who played from room to room. The food of course was delicious

Our waiter George was outstanding. He was very inciteful to the history of the building, food and was able to answer any question presented. The food was outstanding. Highly recommend.

We shared 4 starters. My friend loved the stew, me not so much. The shrimp were good but just 3. My friend liked the ham, I didn't. The Sally Lund bread was soft served with a ham salad and corn and butter. The service was very good and we enjoyed the harpist.

We had a great server! The restaurant appears to be broken up into separate dining rooms so one server can serve everyone in that room. Makes it easy to get their attention should you need something. We had the squash soup - delicious! A salad - it was dressed well and had bits of apples and candied pecans on it. Very good We had the pork shank and it was cooked to perfection! Fall off the bone deliciousness! Served with mashed potatoes and steamed baby carrots and broccolini. It was all Very tasty! To end the evening we had bread pudding and it could not have been made any better. The right amount of spices and layered with cooked apples. Kudos to the chef and his/her staff! Great Colonial Williamsburg experience!

I had what amounts to a pork chop. Wife had a vegetarian dinner. Both were outstanding. Waiter was good but had trouble understanding him. We were seated in a former alcove and seemed that it captured and amplified all the sound in the room.Another visit wife's little bird was good. I had steak. Absolutely the worst meal ever. Side vegetables were done just right and tasty. The mashed potato was good except where the steak and drippings came in contact. The steak tasted like they dredge it with a pound of salt. It was inedible as were the potatoes under it. I normally use a good bit of salt but this was way above anything I have ever tasted.

Had a great meal and experience at Kings Arms. It's not only a meal, but the servers share 18th century factoids as they bring out food and explain past customs. A truly unique and fun dining experience. Our Server, John, was particularly pleasant and made our meal a lot of fun.

Loved the colonial atmosphere. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Excellent service. The relish tray was an interesting touch. I had the special- the duck which was exceptional. The chef came out and had a nice long talk with us about it. At his recommendation I got the snow eggs for dessert which were unique and delicious.

Experience the authentic ambiance of an 18th century tavern at this establishment. The food is exceptional, and the service is reminiscent of the past, with staff sharing historical facts.

We were very disappointed with the mixed drinks. My favorite Rummer had too much apricot brandy and not very much rum. The mint julip was almost all ice with no mint sprig. Otherwise, the service, food and atmosphere were terrific. We enjoyed the minstral. We are reluctant to be critical, but will not order a mixed drink again. We will stick to the wine.

Our waiter was very busy, difficult to communicate with. He was friendly as he waited on us, no time for anything extra. Atmosphere good, game pye was savory. Overall experience was excellent
