American burger an shake joint owned by foreigners? Food was good, but I had to repeat myself several times as they didn't understand me. It's alacart as the burgers, etc don't come with a side. Everything is separate, but the prices are very reasonable. They also don't have ice water...only bottled.

Happen to be working on the William and Mary building right across the street from this place. So,I figured I would give it a try. Really glad I did to, because the bbq hotdog is top notch. They also have handcut fries and home made lemonade, which I really enjoyed. Glad I found this place. Will be eating here alot over the next few months and looking forward to it.

I ordered the Retro Burger, Limeade, and side of fries, which came to be a total of roughly $27 for takeout. The burger meat and bacon was of good portion size, but was bland. The fries were pretty good, though. The limeade was iffy because while it did not taste bad, it was not favorable sweet - it tasted like generic lemon juice with a hint of limeade - similar to what I buy from Walmart. Overall, I could forgive the all the aforementioned critics if it were not for the insane price.

The cashier who served me was not very outgoing or friendly, but not rude either.

Diner style. Best prices in Colonial Williamsburg. Be aware everything priced individually. Fries worth the price. All fries should be made this way. Steak sandwich was excellent.

I had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables. That was the best meal I have had in a long, long time. My wife liked her fish and fries. The only problem I have with Retros is that I live 9 hours away and will only get to eat here on an occasional visit. I wish I could eat here on a weekly basis. It was that good.

The food was excellent. We considered going back the next day. I had the meatloaf which was flavorful and tasty, it was so tender I didn't even cut it with my fork I basically scooped up a fork full. I am picky about meatloaf, mashed potatoes gravy and mixed veggies. Very fresh well seasoned mixed veggies and this may be the best meatloaf I have ever eaten. My husband had the lamb burger and hasn't stopped talking about how good it was for 2 days. He is even talking about trying to recreate it when we get home

Love this place! Delicious food and kind service. The burgers are great and they have all the traditional deserts I miss like old fashioned floats and funnel cake fries! So good 😊

Five stars! The lamb burger here is absolutely amazing. It’s the kind of flavor that makes you want to travel miles just to have it again. The tenderness of the meat, the perfect balance of spices, and the freshness of the bun all come together beautifully. I’ve never had anything like it before — highly recommended!

Very expensive. Burgers weren’t that good, especially for the price. A lot better eateries in the area.
