We stayed at the George Washington Hotel and came to George's for breakfast. Janae, our server, was working the entire restaurant by herself. She was attentive, friendly, fast, and super amazing. It ended up being a crowded morning, but we still got everything very quickly and the food was amazing. I can't say enough about how fantastic her service was.

Great atmosphere and great food. The place was packed and it looked like only one the one waitress was working. Regardless our waitress haylie was awesome and kept us informed through out our dining experience. Unfortunately when I asked to speak to the manager about the understaffing and to pay Haylie a compliment she was unavailable for what ever reason, which is odd and something I've never experienced before.

Terrible service. The waitress was nice but we never got drink refills, everyone was frustrated, they just couldn't keep up. My eggs were undercooked. They forgot food items. My husband wasn't impressed with his food. Would never go back.

3 adults visited for the first time April 10th 2022. It's located inside the George Washington hotel. The ambience is nice kind of historical rustic. Prices are what you would expect from being in a hotel. We only ate breakfast there and they have the standard breakfast items. The food was good. The service was very lacking I'm sure they were short-handed there was no one to greet you when you walked in. The waitress seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else and could care less about anything. Our order was messed up she never apologized or even said much of anything. She just looked at it and walked away and eventually returned with what we were supposed to get.. again no apologies. Go for the food but don't expect much in the way of service. They currently are only open for breakfast not lunch or dinner.

My boyfriend and I decided to eat here for his birthday breakfast this past Sunday. We got there around 10am and ordered tea and coffee and two waters. The waters never came--no big deal--we'll ask when he comes back. He never came back. A girl then showed up 15 minutes later to take our brunch orders. We got one veggie omelet and one omelet with veggies and meat. Then we sat there, and sat there, and finally an hour later my boyfriend started looking around for help. Another girl who wasn't one of the first two waiters said "I saw you looking, what do you need?" I said "Can I please get some water", she brought it back and quickly walked away. So my boyfriend turned around again trying to get someone's attention, meanwhile 2 couples and a group that came in after us already got their food, ate, and left. I saw the staff talking, pointing at the book she wrote our order in, and then they were all looking at us and quickly looked away when meeting eye contact. You know, it's fine to forget to put in someone's order, I worked in the food industry in the past and we all make mistakes, but you TELL THE PEOPLE! You don't all refuse to make eye contact and not come by and apologize and at least offer us another coffee, tea or bring water. An hour and 20 minutes after arriving our food came out, and it was wrong. They put meat in my omelet and didn't put veggies in his. He told them to just forget about his, but to fix mine since I'm vegetarian. So that waitress apologized and ran down and got them to make a new. It came out in 10 minutes. Our meals were bad, his sausage was burnt, and mine didn't have much inside the omelet except for HUGE chunks of eggshell. They only have cloth napkins so I frantically looked around, couldn't spit it back on the plate (well, honestly I should have) so I grabbed my water and swallowed the egg shell down and then pushed my plate away. They brought us the bill, after we had to wave another waitress down and ask for it, and they charged us for everything. No apologies, no compensation for the long wait and then the wrong meal. We are nice people and didn't make a scene, but just paid, left a $5 tip off a $45 crap service and meal, and left. If you're willing to refund that whole experience, that'd be great.

I had breakfast, the servers were outstanding. The omelet was the best I have had. Outstanding way to start my day.

Came here for Valentine’s Day dinner since it had pretty good reviews. Their Valentine’s menu had 4 courses and none of them impressed us. For the first course, he said his was alright and then the soup was okay, but I just wasn’t expecting it to be served cold. For the second course, the oysters were alright and he didn’t like the pork belly at all. The main course was the worst. My steak was dry despite being medium rare and had no flavor whatsoever. His chicken was the driest chicken either of us have ever ate. Dessert was awful. His torte was okay until you tried the raspberry moonshine glaze. It tastes like the just gave you a shot of moonshine in the glaze. The whole dish tasted like alcohol from it. The chocolate strawberry plate was ONE strawberry that was soft, bruising, and tasted like it was going bad. On top of it all we both ended up getting sick after we got home. Not sure which it was from. We won’t be back and was NOT worth the $150 we paid

We can't say enough about our Christmas Day meal at The George. The menu was innovative and so affordable, especially considering the high food quality, and decadence! Cocktails were crafted beautifully, and that Beet Salad! Dear GOD. Butternut Squash Soup with a Cherry compote, topped with nuts. Wild forest cream ravioli, the BEST Beef Wellington, and Lord, the Creme Brulee. Service was top notch. We were delighted to see Chef Cheryl Ash!! She is a brilliant Chef! It was also a pleasure to meet your W Guest Chef. We HAD to make sure that they knew that everything was off the charts. It was the first Christmas after unexpectedly losing my 34 year old son. Your entire team went above and beyond and we are grateful. It was absolutely the highlight of our holiday.

Breakfast at the hotel. Friendly staff. Hot coffee. Great omelette with lots of toppings to choose without a bunch of additional costs. Breakfast potatoes were good, too.

Very fast and friendly service. I had breakfast here upon opening on a Wednesday morning. It wasn't too busy and the food was so good! I'd love to eat breakfast here again.

We took my son and his wife out for brunch 10-1. Arrived at 10. We were given the breakfast not brunch menu. After we decided what we wanted the waitress came back and took breakfast menus and gave us brunch menus. My son ordered egg over easy, it came with toast on breakfast menu but he was told when his food arrived no toast with brunch menu. My daughter ordered a quinoa bowl she loves avocados, well the bowl at brunch doesn't have avocado, eventually the waitress brought some avocado little late. My husband and I got French toast looked and tasted like they used wonder bread, soggy. we want out for dinner in old town night before meal was awful. They are from charlotte they have the best restaurants. Kind of embarrassing not to be able to get a good meal in Winchester. Guess will head to Northern Virginia next time.

The Sunday brunch at George’s food and spirits was Devine, the level of professionalism and attentiveness of the staff by the restaurant was incredible. I truly encourage all those in the area to come in and try this hidden gem below the hotel.

Disappointed. Brought my wife here for a Mother’s Day “fine dining” experience. Was attracted to the nice pictures and simple but seemingly elegant menu. This place has potential and in my opinion is a missed opportunity.I had to get up from my table and ask the manager for a coffee refill because I was being ignored by my server. Then even after that had to ask the server to fill my wife’s ice water. The manager is so disconnected that she didn’t even visit my table afterwards to make sure our dining experience was okay. I only ate a few bites of my eggs Benedict. It was actually good but I lost my appetite because I ate a bad potato. Not even a question as to why my plate was hardly touched. I paid my bill. Left a 25% tip. (I say this because I am not interested in free food. I’m interested in a nice dining experience). But left quite disappointed. I was actually interested in coming back for dinner but, not sure I can get past this experience.
