We enjoyed a wonderful dinner while traveling to the Shenandoah University to see the show “Into the Woods” at their conservatory. The food was atypical French, and the service was top notch. It’s always so much fun to dine at a chef owned restaurant; the pride of the art of cooking and the love of food and wine really shine through. We’ll come back whenever we travel to or through Winchester. Definitely recommend!
Amazing Gem in the heart of Winchester! Owner was spectacular and food was delicious!

La Nicoise Cafe offers an authentic French dining experience with well-prepared food and a varied menu. The owner, Frederic Boukaïa, provides outstanding service, making guests feel welcome. Customers highly recommend the shrimp and crab ravioli, French onion soup, carrot ginger soup, pate, and desserts like chocolate mousse and Grand Marnier creme brulee. The atmosphere is described as close to dining on the streets of Paris, creating a cozy, intimate environment. The restaurant focuses on Mediterranean French cuisine, especially seafood, and offers a whole evening experience similar to European dining. Visitors praise the exquisite food, the owner’s personal check-ins, and the cozy atmosphere that makes every visit special. It is located in Winchester, just a short drive from DC, perfect for celebrating special occasions or enjoying an occasional splurge. Reservations are recommended during busy times, as the restaurant tends to fill up quickly.
