Just had the worst New Year’s Eve of my life. The manager Jennifer was extremely rude and raise her voice at me for “illegally having a wine bottle” at the venue. When I showed her I paid a cork fee she yank the receipt from my hand and went to speak with her staff. Her staff never mentioned we couldn’t have the wine at the venue, otherwise why would I pay for a cork fee? . I tried to explain and yet she kept raising her voice at me and took away my full glass and grabbed my bottle and said “you have to leave bye bye goodnight”Jennifer was so rude and ruined my new years evening. I was having a great time awaiting for the new year and my birthday Jan 1. This is the memory I take away for visiting Winchester VA and this bar, with a rude and unprofessional manager.

Surprisingly good food for hotel restaurant at the George Washington Hotel. Nice bar, good food and the piano player added to a nice experience.

Very nice bar. They close early, since Winchester gets pretty quiet after 10, but they could make a fortune if they had extended hours

Urban atmosphere and aesthetic in Old Town. There is great live music on many weekends. Try a specialty cocktail, pictured is an Orange Bourbon Smash

It was great to have a restaurant open after driving 4 hours. The half note is located in the lobby of George Washington hotel. Downtown! They were open when a lot of other places were not, as a result, I wish the menu would include a few small plates items chicken fingers , fries (truffle Parmesan) soups (French onion), maybe this would be the kids menu. The beds were comfortable and the room clean.
