Didn't know this gem was so close to home. Wanted to try some west African and specifically fufu, this place did not disappoint. Didn't get to choose how spicy but was pleased there was some in the soup. I did takeout but the restaurant was clean inside and the staff looked welcoming. Good sized surving and lots of flavor, i recommend to anyone in the area wanting to try west African or support black business
One of the best part of living in DC was Aburi Gardens. I miss the goat appetizer (aponkye), the oxtail with jollof, and the goat curry greatly. ...but above everything else, I miss that whole fish with fried yams. I still dream about the spices and that fish. Volta lake special with fried yams. Easiest order of my life.
