Can’t believe we have not visited this lovely little spot before. Completely unpretentious, warm, personal… delicious wines and incredible homemade pastas and bread. Could barely fit them in, but ended our meal with freshly made cannolis new favorite spot!

I hate writing a bad review, but the pasta was way overcooked. I love black pepper, but it was over the top, very heavy-handed. Kitchen exhaust filled the dining area. Caesar was good, but again, the black pepper should be an option, not in big grains, already mixed in. Disappointing.

great food -- we had salmon and potato pasta -- the owner seems grumpy but is nice underneath -- he made us laugh -- dessert was great

Excellent food. Relaxed atmosphere I sat in the window seat and enjoyed watching the rushing passers by. The meatball appetizer is so good I ordered some to go. It is definitely on my return to list. Thank you for the delicious dinner

Super friendly place and excellent food! We were lucky to get a table in this small Italian restaurant on a Saturday night. We got great service, excellent food and an all round fun evening. Homemade pasta, and you can tell! Definitely recommend them!

I love this little bistro. They offer nightly specials. I had a flatbread, with sauteed peaches, crispy prosciutto, ricotta, chiles, and basalmic vinegar. A very unusual combination of flavors & textures. Fantastic! Also, try the Rigatoni alla Zozzona. Best pasta sauce.

Everything about our dinner experience was wonderful - from the small restaurant atmosphere, cordial service and excellent food. We had the potato gnocci and pork loin-both excellent. The lemon cake dessert with raspberry coulis was awesome! Ken (owner/chef) was so pleasant and attentive - we are so pleased we found this gem for our one night in Brattleboro! We will be back the next time we are traveling here again.

This is a wonderful Italian storefront in Brattleboro with food that is much better than what you might expect from an Italian storefront. My wife and I had dinner here on one leg of a road trip through the Hudson Valley, the Berkshires and Vermont. Ken and his kitchen staff do delicious scratch cooking. I am on a restricted low-salt diet, and Ken could not have been more accommodating. My Pork Parm was excellent. My wife, who does not have any diet restrictions thoroughly enjoyed her Chicken Parm as well. We also loved the Fried Calamari. . I highly recommend the Blue Moose Bistro

We were less than impressed with this restaurant located in downtown Brattleboro. My meal (a pasta dish which was small for the price ) was floating in a brown liquid and had rubbery mushrooms. The bread was stale. The room smelled of something burning . The owner (and our waiter I think!) had a fan on blowing smoke from the kitchen directly towards patrons tables . I did taste the chicken parm and that was good. The sauce was fresh and tasted nice but the pasta was over cooked. Pasta should have a bite to it. The salad had so much pepper added it was inedible. The dessert we chose tasted old and stale. Fresh desserts and bread should be offered daily and not kept for days on end to serve.. I think they need more help and this may be a better spot. When our orders were being taken the waiter was so close. It put me off . The seats by the windows were nice and offered a view while eating, which I like . But not sure we will return.

I had a bad feeling when we entered this restaurant at 7pm on a Friday night and there was only one couple there. A glass of chardonnay was $15, and this was not an expensive brand. The fried calamari was so overcooked that it felt as if we were eating bread sticks. My wife's eggplant was soaking wet with grease. The service was uninspired and for what we spent we could have eaten in a fine dining restaurant in any major city!

My sister choose this restaurant for her birthday dinner. We began my splitting 3 appetizers between the 4 of us: Scallops, Calamari, and Mussels. All were excellent. Three of us had pasta entrees and one had veal. The portions were a nice size - not too big. I particularly enjoyed the red sauce both on the pasta dishes and as a dip with the calamari. The service was attentive and we enjoyed talking food with the host/server who, I believe is also the chef and owner. I appreciated the fact that he warned me about a wine that I was going to order asking me if I like sweet white wine and that if I didn't it was not a good choice. The deserts were very good. In fact, I think the cannoli was the best I've had outside of the North End of Boston. We will definitely be back.

Approaching the restaurant, the door was propped open with a rock, and it was cold out. We assumed that this was because it was so smoky inside the restaurant. The restaurant was not well ventilated. This is a small, two-person operation: host/waiter, and cook. The place is old and has not been kept up. The bar was closed and piled with dirty dishes. The host is friendly and engaging. The homemade bread was delicious and the dipping oil, thanks to the plentiful red peppers, was hot. The wine was a generous pour and very tasty. I ordered the special, lamb t-bone “which we cook medium rare”. OK. But the lamb was so tough that I could barely cut it with a table knife. I was too rare, tasted raw. My companion’s swordfish was not fresh and the puttanesca was very spicy, again with red pepper. I was coughing from the smoke and we got out of there before dessert.

Some holes in the wall can be a nice surprise. This particular one is anything but.Let me tell you about our visit. Early evening out decided to use a gift card to this "Restaurant" we observed a elderly man standing in the doorway smoking or vaping? We decided to wait a while, maybe he was just passing by.About 15 min later we went in after observing another couple enter...Whoa the same man that was outside approached us and told us to sit at the window and we asked for another table,he cleared a table for 4 and pointed to it. We sat down he came back with a repurposed wine bottle filled with warm tap water,no ice in dollar store highball glasses, and paper menu.We can't tell you his name because he did't tell us.He came back asked if we wanted drinks,we declined and ordered an app. It came out 10 min later with a chip on one of our plates. He returns asks if we want salad,we decline and ordered our entrees he seems agitated with our decline of beverages and salads. No food on the other couples table yet they look perplexed. Our entrees arrive ,both pasta dishes in mismatched Dollar store soup bowls. The couple across from us also get their meal....finally Yeah! My husband said his dish was ok. mine however was supposed to have a cream sauce, instead it was literally a bowl of pasta soup! The bill came and we still had a balance on our gift cards. This server took it upon himself to add the balance to our bill,so to make it right we simply deducted it from the tip. this server and the man in the kitchen tall man with a beard....the Chef we think never came over to introduce himself either. The couple next to us were eager to leave,we behind them.If your searching for authentic Italian cuisine treat yourself to Gianni Figs in South Deerfield MA. You'll be happy with your choice.

Chef Ken you are a savior! Tried to tough it out but could not do homecook again. Your caccio i pepe, the freshest salad ever and the over the top brownie really saved my day.... and the rigatoni and sausage was a hit as well. Could you cook for us every night?? So happy that you are here for us. Be well, stay safe and Thank You!!
