For me, there's an elegance to simplicity when it's done well. The food here is not pretentious or pretending to be something it's not (I also happen to love noodles so there could be bias there). It is delicious, prepared well and full of flavor. We ordered more than we needed on purpose but instead of taking some home, we stuffed ourselves. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable with kind energy. Our server, Katherine was engaging and happy. I'd eat here a lot if I were local, no question. Easy, tasty and delightful.

I am a freshman BHS student, and this is week 2 of my š“Student Eateries Seriesš“
Today I am craving some Ramen since my throat is sore, and Gaku Ramen was the perfect choice.
I ordered a Tonkotsu Ramen, and added a soft boiled egg. It may be my opinion, but I think they should add in a boiled egg in the ramen for free, because thatās what most ramen restaurants I visited do. The flavor was quite good, a little umami flavor, and not sweet, which means itās a little authentic. However, the broth could be hotter, like close to boiling hot. The atmosphere was great. A TV displaying the shaggy cartoon, and calm music! The service was pretty good, but when I paid, I didnāt receive the 5 cents change. I DIDNāT MIND THIS AT ALL, but if the waiter actually cared enough to give the 5 cents, the service wouldāve been 5 stars.
Overall, great atmosphere, a little flawed in service and food, but this restaurant is good overall!

So my friend and I went here for a nice little dinner, not knowing the chaos that would ensue. I have been a vegetarian for over 3 years, so I ordered the vegetable fried rice, and my friend got chicken fried rice. The waitress brought our food over, and specified that she was handing me the veggie fried rice. It was looking pretty delectable. I started eating mine, while my friend was mustering up the courage to ask for a second set of chop sticks. As I was eating, I was wondering about some parts of the dish, as they looked suspiciously meat-like. I brought it up to my friend, who had been eating his meal rather ravenously. He stated that he thought his looked to have little to no chicken in it. We quickly realized that I had been eating the one with meat the whole time. Overall, the staff was delightful, especially Seth. (Keep up the good work bud!) however, we are quite disappointed by this mix up. All the best.

We waited for 15mins and left. They're terrible at service. No one gave us the menu or anything.
Dorothy is an excellent server! The ramen has noodles that are too thick for my taste and the broth is a little too dense(too filling) but the flavor profile is excellent!

Food was ok. Iāve had better Iāve had worse. The thing that bothers me was going as a biracial couple and feeling targeted because of that. They claimed our money was fake, and refused to check it. Ended up getting it checked myself and as I thought, it was real. Do better.

Incredibly refreshing and stunning handcrafted beverages!! My extremely talented bartender/server Kat provided the best service I've had in decades... Also loved all the SZA that was playing, *impeccable* ambiance!!

Showed up with our small, well behaved dog. It was a beautiful summer afternoon but for some reason they did not have their outdoor tables set up.
Some high school kid behind the bar flat out tells us weāre not welcome. Doesnāt even offer us take out, just pushes us out the door. I understand that dogs arenāt allowed in restaurants but donāt understand why a mostly empty restaurant wouldnāt want our business.
The food here is pretty good but after this poor experience with an overly entitled staff member I canāt say if weāll be back.

Excellent authentic ramen. Hubs and I had the pork with spicy miso added. Our son had the chicken shoyu, which was very flavorful.
Both were delicious and our son is asking to come again tomorrow!

one of my favorite restaurants in burlington! every time i go i enjoy myself so much and eat until iām basically sick. the portions are great, the food is good, and the staff are friendly and attentive. the last two times iāve went my group had seth and he was wonderful and clearly enthusiastic to be there. if the weather is nice i recommend their outdoor seating, sitting on church street and admiring the scene is very enjoyable. maybe a bit pricey, but iād say itās worth it :-)
