We simply couldn't figure out why the daily planet did not have a higher ranking on Yelp. We had delicious sandwiches (steak and tofu) with fries on a busy Friday night - great service - great staff - we didn't see Clark and Lois.

Really loved this place when I went a while back. Can't wait to return later this year. I remember the food seemed very fresh and unique.

Service was amazing! The bar looked like it could be fun and the selection of drinks was good although expensive for Burlington. The food was wildly expensive for how awful it was. We only got vegan options which may have been our mistake because people around us seemed to be tolerating the food. The nachos were okay for vegan nachos but still pretty rough. The falafel burger was very disappointing but the peanut ginger hoagie was so bad it was almost offensive for $17. The menu offered fried eggplant as an alternative to make the hoagie vegan but when it arrive the inch thick slabs of wet eggplant seemed have been soaked in cold oil and doused in so much peanut butter that the sandwich and fries were were coated in it. I never leave reviews but I cannot let other vegans waste their money here.

the glass ceilings and plants made this one of the best meals I’ve had. The coffee was delightful. The chorizo burrito paired with the home fries were flavorful and well prepared, would recommend anyone looking for a good meal with amazing environment to dine here.Staff was friendly and helpful in suggesting choices when we could not decide.

Food was not good. The ambience and setting is nice, but the complete lack of customers during Saturday was surprising. Waiters were nice, unfortunately food was very underwhelming despite the expensive prices.

In short: great service, great atmosphere, decent wine menu, pretty low quality foodAt length: my wife and I are world travelers in our early 30s but decided to spend most of our days on a farm in the country, living the “good life”. We don’t make much more money now, so every trip to the city is a big treat for us. After working incredibly hard for everything we have, we try to choose exciting new places to explore where we can let ourselves completely bask in the relaxation of being served good food. Our server was great, but the food seriously was so disappointing and horribly overpriced. It was clear some of the items were fresh out of a can and some right out of a freezer. For the kind of quality we look for in more pricey places (our bill was about $200 with tip, a bottle of wine, some appetizers and our main courses) we expect to be served fresh ingredients and thoughtful dishes. Unfortunately both were clearly lacking. The atmosphere is wonderful and their wine list is ok (also very overpriced IMO) so we chose to focus on the good, but it really hurts spending what little money we make with such disappointing results. Definitely won’t recommend to anyone or go back.

Black bean fritters were great as were the fries and passion fruit mule. The sandwiches were small for the price and the pork belly hoagie could use a more dynamic sauce like a peanut sauce as well as more pickles. it was also very cold where we were, that might prevent us from returning in the winter. Music could have benefited from some jazz or bossanova and quieter volume. Overall decor was fantastic.

Came to this hip bar and restaurant in Burlington for drinks and food one evening. It actually seems more like a quiet place than a place to get crazy and party. The Daily Planet also has better than typical bar stuff. Prices are high on some things, especially entrees and the bigger items. You can get a few small things for cheap though. Busy but not too loud when we got inside. It's like it has a subtle classiness it seems. There were seats at the bar so we got some there. It's about $12 for regular price for cocktails. Ordered a few with it being happy hour. Best of these was the Time Bomb. This is Earl Grey with lemon, thyme, and vodka. As for the food we kept it cheap. It's $9 for the Spicy Tomato Dill Soup. This is vegan. It was creamier than expected. This was really good stuff. Go here for drinks and some food. It's only just a small menu but there's big flavor to it though. There's a few things okay for vegans and vegetarians.

It was very nice inside and full of plants. There was a lot of people inside and the server was fairly present. The tofu sandwich was good however the steak with the steak frites was very subpar. Not sure it's how they cooked it I think the cut itself was just bad. Very chewy and stiff, not worth the price. May come back for something else
