UVM Medical Center Garden Atrium

The food and coffee is a great, local pick and very delicious.

The service is extremely poor.

I ordered a coffee and a croissant. The cashier took my order then immediately picked up their phone and started texting for 2-3 minutes while a customer waited to place their order.

After the second customer placed their order, the cashier went back to their phone. I waited a few minutes to see if they would give me the food I ordered.

They remained hypnotized by their phone with no recollection of my order. After 5 minutes, I asked them how much longer for my croissant. They looked confused, then gave me a croissant and went back to their phone.

Thankfully the Garden Atrium has reopened after a period of challenges including Covid and staffing. It is a welcome respite for both UVMMC staff and visitors. They offer a nice variety of baked goods, bagel and savory items. Staff is friendly and alert to keeping the cases fully stocked. It is a good place to take a break if you are waiting for someone who is a patient or has an appointment.

Nice, relaxing spot! They have great lunches, too!
