What a gorgeous end-of-summer night we had at the Lake House Pub and Grill. The hostess sat us on the outdoor deck, and we got to watch a spectacular sunset during dinner. I have two teenage boys with very different palates. My youngest ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with nothing on it (chicken and bun only, with fries) and was delighted with his dish (a rare experience with a picky eater). He said the chicken was perfect, and the fries were “huge,” and possibly the best he ever had. My older son was more adventurous. He ordered the “ahoy nachos” (basically sashimi tuna with seaweed salad on fried wonton “chips.”) it looked exquisite, and he loved it. He even allowed me to try one, and it was a delicious concoction. He also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, a hearty dish of cavatappi pasta with a generous portion of lobster meat in a creamy cheese sauce. Two thumbs up. I ordered eggplant fries (mmm...) and a honey/soy Thai inspired swordfish dish from the specials menu. The fish was cooked perfectly, so tender and juicy, with a nice char on the outside and a yummy sauce. It came on top of rice noodles with edamame, peppers and snap peas. The veggies were nice and crisp. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect night, weather-wise, or a more beautiful location. Also, all of the staff was absolutely lovely, friendly, professional, and seemed to be having a good time. They work as a team. Bravo! We will be back.
The excellent service and bus staff were excellent but undermaned.

Staff was amazing, fast, courteous, we sat outside, they were attentive with a bowl of water for our dog and a dog treat. The food was hot, and fantastic, fish was excellent, wings were perfect. Can't say enough about this Gem, we will be going back for sure.
The place was clean. Restrooms clean. Warm atmosphere. Window seating shows great view of lake. Outside seating (unbrellas) in front of lake.
Amazing service. They are Not confrontational.
Husband n I ordered fish n chips.
Sadly, we were not impressed with food. Tasted blan. Cooked nicely. Fish flaky. But no seasoning. Tarter sauce was actually just mayo. The truffle fries had no truffle oil on it. Just filled with powdered parmigian cheese.
For the price if this place I would have thought the food was better than that.
Though, Husband said he was surprized because he had gone there last year, at least for the sandwiches, he said we're absolutely amazing.

Definitely improved over some past years.
Hitting on all cylinders now.
Was always a great view and friendly staff but they have stepped it up a lot.
Kayla and Alex were awesome.
Parking: There is usually good parking available on both sides of the street but it backs onto a somewhat busy road that SHOULD be easy to back out into but some people do not observe the speed limit so pay attention.

We were very excited to visit the Lake House. Due to iffy weather there was no outside seating but we did sit right on the window and the view didn't disappoint! The service was good. On point early but slowed as the evening went. Some food was awesome and other items not so much. Expected all to be great at the price points. Highlights were the scallops topped with bacon. Perhaps the best I've ever had! The flourless chocolate torte was outstanding as well and the carrots served on the side of the entree were amazing. However the fingerling potatoes were overly salty and the hanger steak just okay. Chimichurri was way too spicy and I like spicy food! Loved the location and the view can't be beat!
Made the drive from Manchester- 50 minutes for the lakeside sunset. Difficult to believe that this is part of the same restaurant group as Barrows and Dorset Inn etc. The service was very good but the overall quality of the food was very below average and the prices are quite high given the lousy quality. Super bummed we spent this much $$ tonight. We had terrible fish and chips, a steak that was first undercooked and then cooked fine but lacking in flavor, shrimp taco that had a total of 4 medium shrimp Between the two tacos for $28.00.. seriously. Even the chicken wings were so so but the calamari was at least decent. Hate to give a bad review for such a beautiful spot with such a nice staff.
The setting on the east side of Lake Bomoseen is spectacular - really, it couldn't be better for an evening meal on a nice day. The servers are young and energetic. They are very nice and we have found them very responsive. Drinks are good, including mocktails. The wine is fine, and the beer selection is very good. They have live music, which is a nice touch, and better some nights than others.
The food is the weak link. We've eaten there twice, and it's just not as good as at the Poultney Pub. Most recently, neither the swordfish nor the fish and chips was particularly fresh, and the prices are high for the quality. I don't mind the prices so much, as I figure we are paying for the location and the army of young servers. If they could improve the food menu and sourcing, this place would be fantastic.

If you are looking for a great overall dining experience, this is the spot. We can't wait to return soon as it has always been a winner. We dined on the dock. It is such a beautiful setting. Per our server (knowledgeable and very friendly) suggestion, our group shared apps and finished with the duo cheesecakes. All entrees were perfect, delicious, and enjoyed by all.

Excellent service and the drinks were incredible, specifically the Rowboat Rhubarb. I got the Crispy Chicken Sandwich for my meal and it was also incredible. Love the live music and being able to sit right on the lake. Absolutely love it here!
