Went here today for a late breakfast. I ordered a traditional breakfast with 2 eggs scrambled and dry with no brown skin on them, home fries and rye toast. What I got was a large, thin fried egg covered with brown skin, served with very few home fries (which didn’t have their usual spicy flavor) and 3 pieces of rye toast. I had to give most of my egg to my husband because I just abhor eggs covered in the brown skin. I wound up with about a teaspoonful of egg, the skimpy serving of home fries and the toast. I had to ask for salsa on the side to put on the potatoes because there were not spicy on their own. Apparently, whomever was doing the cooking today doesn’t know the difference between scrambled eggs and fried eggs. Very, very disappointed with my breakfast and I don’t think I’ll be returning to this restaurant anytime soon. My husband had the 3 buttermilk pancakes and said they were good.
Alright, you walk into a rehabbed corner service station at the legendary 5 Corners in downtown Essex Junction and immediately enter the "shop"! So campy and cool. Don't believe me? Read the flag!
Order at the counter, smell your lunch cooking as the line fires your selections, and relax on your steel chair for a moment. You are about to have your socks blown off by your taste buds! Today, I had the House Cheese Steak. Over the moon! Wow, good. So delicious and toasty. Perfect autumn food with the perfect sear, and the perfect Pablano heat.
Great fresh, great bun, great beef, great sauce! Forgot the pic. Too hungry to take the snap. Sorry.
Best lunch! Thanks!

The carnitas omelet was so damn delicious... the tomatillo sauce was so good I had to get a cup to take home. The home fries with the addition of this sauce.. awesome! The pork burrito was very good as well... until I started chewing on a bunch of undercooked rice... that kinda put me off of it, shame though...I was really enjoying it.
My wife had the spinach and red onion omelet with bacon... she liked hers as well... (enough to take leftovers home to have later) over all I enjoyed this place... if and when we return to town I will definitely be stopping by to try other dishes...

My wife and I wanted to check out this local spot, The Firebird Cafe, and we were not disappointed! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt warm and inviting, with a relaxed, rustic charm that makes you feel instantly at home. The staff was welcoming and attentive, providing prompt service that made our first visit even more enjoyable.
For my meal, I went with the C.A.B. wrap from their Wraps & Panini section. I customized it a bit, opting for no bacon, adding lettuce and tomato, and choosing multigrain gluten-free bread, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The sandwich was fresh and flavorful, with the garlic mayo adding just the right amount of zest without being overpowering. Paired with salt & cracked pepper chips, it made for a satisfying and well-balanced meal. I washed it all down with a refreshing lemonade, which was the perfect complement on a warm day.
Overall, The Firebird Cafe delivered on every front—from the cozy ambiance and attentive service to the quality of the food. We left feeling satisfied and looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious, thoughtfully prepared meal in a welcoming setting.

First time for lunch here. An eclectic menu with vegetarian and vegan options. I had fish tacos which were awesome. No pictures because I horked it down.

The food is amazing, but I don’t think I have ever been able to order online or over the phone for pickup. Every single time I’ve ever tried to call over the last few years, I get a busy tone. It’s incredibly frustrating. Also - the website has been out of date for a couple of years now as well, which can be confusing.
