Read the reviews and this is one place which was highly recommended by various people. Had to check it out and so we went. Service was first rate. Our waitress was great and attentive. We started with complimentary cranberry fritters with butter. Then a beautiful garden salad with balsamic. With the salad came Italian bread. We had the best lobster Mac and cheese as appetizer. Absolutely fabulous. Main course was pork Schnitzel and my wife ordered baked Scrod. Both great choices. We were both stuffed and had to skip dessert. Overall a very pleasant experience. Great food and amazing service. A must visit when you’re in the area.Parking: Ample space.Kid-friendliness: Not really. Tight space inside

Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Exhilarating just knowing you're sitting in a restaurant opened as a hotel in 1790 - that's some really cool Americana right there. The drinks were very good as well. I had ordered a Lynchburg Lemonade, and our server Kiara had never heard of it before. When I told her the bartender is likely familiar she said "I'm your bartender tonight". That drink was excellent, one of the better ones I've ever had.My girlfriend and I shared a lobster bisque, and for entrees she had the turkey dinner and I ordered the scrod. Both meals were delicious. Even the salad, dressed with a simple balsamic dressing, was quite good.Everything about the meal and the evening wax thoroughly enjoyable. We'll be back to Ye Olde Tavern the next time we're in Manchester.

I rarely give five stars but I just had such a great time at this restaurant that I felt comfortable giving it. The building is gorgeous, the staff are all super nice, and the food is amazing. Now, there is a bit of limited space from what I saw but when I went it wasn’t busy and they sat me at the bar and even the dark wood of the bar was gorgeous.Between the drinks, the delicious cranberry fritters and butternut squash soup and of course the steak (oddly the rice was the only thing I found lacking) I left feeling heady and happy and I’ve been trying to find a time to get my friends to come with me so i can try some more of the food. Will definitely go back! The caveat: it’s fairly pricey but it’s that kind of place and the effort they put in is worth the money.

We’re a military family traveling through on our way to visit family in New Hampshire and went to dinner at Ye Olde Tavern. My parents RAVED about it so I was excited to try it. The moment we were seated it felt like we were not welcomed. Our server Ashlee was absolutely unprofessional and rude the entire dinner. She couldn’t answer basic menu questions and I ended up pouring our water multiple times as she was too busy gossiping with the younger staff at the hostess table or in the kitchen. She walked past our table 3 times without checking in. I’m sorry but this is awful service. I asked for a child’s size mac and cheese without the lobster and bacon but was still charged for half the amount of the full size that included lobster and bacon. My pork schnitzel was under seasoned and boring. I’ve had better from a food truck. I was given 1 tbsp of butternut squash and 4 green beans as my side. I could maybe look past some of these things if it was crazy busy but we were one of maybe 3 tables in the ENTIRE restaurant. Honestly I’d never return and a lot of that had to do with our awful server. I hope management speaks to her on how she treats paying customers.

Great place! Had the melt in your mouth venison. Lovely, warm and unique restaurant. Really enjoyed it, the snow made it that much more cozy. Server was perfect and punctual. They have a mock-tail apple punch or something like that that was refreshing and would be perfect for even younger patrons. Already trying to recreate it...Worth making your visit, as I left a very happy camper! Thank you, as I will visit again.

The whole dining experience was pretty much perfect. Food was excellent, service was top notch, and the atmosphere was very quaint and comfortable. However, a couple days later we discovered an extra charge on the card! We split the bill down the middle between cash and card, then left a 23.00 tip. There should have only been a $45 charge on the card, but there was a $60 charge, instead. Not cool!Aside from this, I was very sick during the night. I did have a very rich meal with scallops, shrimp and lobster meat. I may have had a bad reaction to the seafood. I'm not typically sensitive to seafood, though. I had a beer, but didn't finish it.All in all, it was a good experience at the restaurant and I definitely would go again!

We always enjoy this place. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food as always was delicious and well prepared. We took our time enjoying our meal from the appetizer to dessert. Our waitress was very helpful and made sure we were comfortable and well cared for. We love old buildings and the atmosphere so Ye Olde Tavern is perfect for us.

Ye Olde Tavern is an excellent taste of New England, with the classic Vermont mixed in. Their servers are attentive and caring, and take care of their customers. You also get very good value. Their special beer brewed by Switchback is excellent.I have to also give a shoutout to the staff that helped us when my wife lost her bracelet down a bathroom drain. I cannot imagine many restaurants close to home that would have gone through the effort to retrieve the lost bracelet, further confirming how much they care about their customers.100% recommend and will definitely dine again when back in Manchester.

We just love Ye Olde Tavern. From the atmosphere to the service and delicious food, the tavern is my go-to dinner spot when in Manchester. Their cranberry fritters are yummy; the salad is on point and my scallops were amazing. Everything was perfect.

Our experience began with Josie, our server, who is the very best I've ever met. The moment I put my menu down, she was there to take our order, she somehow managed to put items on the table without us noticing, and was extremely pleasant and professional.First, we had the Cranberry Fritters with Maple butter. We ordered the Almond & Brown Sugar Encrusted Brie and Crab Stuffed Mushrooms for appetizers, had the House Balsamic with Bleu Cheese crumb on our salads, and for dinner I had the Venison with Mushroom Bourdelaise, my husband had one of the specials (sirloin with onions and cheeses), my daughter had the Atlantic Salmon with Horseradish crust, and my son had the Traditional Pot Roast. Soft, delicious bread was served as well. For dessert, we had the Chocolate Bombe Flambés.Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. My daughter said, "I don't know how they do it, but even the salad tastes better here." Indeed, everything did!The Tavern itself is decorated with antiques and is very warm and inviting.I highly recommend you make a reservation and experience Ye Olde Tavern the next time you're in Manchester.

FABULOUS Atmosphere, feels as if you are dining in George Washington’s Tavern. Hardly any artificial light, meaning each table has a beautiful. Tapered candle, as well as a kerosene lantern. True candlelight dining experience! Food is delicious! One of the most relaxing and delicious meals I’ve had in this area in a long time.!!!
