We hosted a graduation party here last weekend. Wonderful food and service! Our party of 14 was comfortable and well fed while we celebrated our Midd graduate. Visited Fire & Ice many times during our daughter's years there. Highly recommend.

Best food, best service and best atmosphere of any restaurant in Vermont. It is exclusively where my partner and I have our date nights. We realized whenever we picked a different spot, we would end up saying to each other that we wished we’d gone to Fire & Ice! The decor is delightful, and we’ve made a game of trying to map out all the different rooms and spots throughout the place. We’ve easily been here 15 times and are still pretty sure there are rooms we haven’t seen yet. All the servers are always very nice and helpful, and even when they are very busy service is fast. There are lots of menu options with price range options between casual lunch and a nice dinner. Cannot recommend this spot highly enough!

Nice big restaurant. Wait staff was friendly and attentive, service was quick. Nice atmosphere- as big as the place is, it felt like we were secluded, we could have a conversation and not be overpowered by others in the restaurant talking. Food was very good, a lot of flavor in all of our dishes. It is a little on the high end price wise, dinner for 2 is easily over $100+ But a good time was had by all! Oh- if you have any garlic intolerance, don't get the chicken Alfredo. That was my choice, and it was absolutely delicious, but could only eat very little and ended up having to throw more than half of it out 😞

The innkeeper at the inn where I was staying in Ripton said this was her favorite restaurant in Middlebury and recommends it every time I visit. I finally went, and now I see why she insists! It's such a unique vibe. The servers are very knowledgeable and attentive. The menu is exquisite for adults, yet they also have a children's menu that the kids loved. They have a great bar, and the kitchen is clearly talented—they must have professional chefs.

I was blown away by this place. It’s a real throwback to old fine family restaurants from the 70s-80s. The memorabilia is in great shape and not dingy. There are multiple rooms with various themes such as a library, a room that looks like train berths, and a cool antique boat in the lobby. Now onto the food – very rich old fashion recipes with excellent quality ingredients. I had the bar steak and the bacon and onion cooked sweet relish was really tasty and the steak was cooked to order properly. My wife has the chicken Boursin which was a very unique and tasty dish. The dessert the carrot cake was the best we had in years. It’s as if they have a crew of Amish grandmothers in the back and they told them to do their thing but on an elevated basis. Great spot. Will be back.

This place is way over-rated and overpriced. Being a group of four, we ordered a bunch of appetizers. Those were ok. When the burgers and steak came, we saw that they were all still raw. Nobody in this family likes raw (red, uncooked) meat. We order them both well done. The fries were greasy and vegetables were cold. The waitress Charlotte seemed bothered by us telling her about the food being so uncooked. We could not wait to leave and not come back.
