The food on its own was decently tasty Indian food, but I was extremely disappointed with the portion size. My 18$ butter chicken was maybe half the size I expected it to be and left me hungry.
Good was ok and service was good but the menus is huge! Almost too many choices to have really good food. I’ve been in food service off and on for years. Large menus make it hard to control quality.
Vegetarian options: Hard to find places that serve a lot of vegetarian choices and those place has lot.

Don’t sleep on Indian-Nepali Kitchen— best Indian food in Vermont! The dishes are packed with so much flavor, the portions are generous, and the owners are super friendly! We jump at the opportunity to stop in and try something new every time we are in Montpelier. On one of our visits, my partner wanted a beer, and the owner let him try an imported Indian ale from his own stock. So good! Grab take out, or even better drop in and get the full experience!!
The best Indian restaurants I have ever tried. Thanks to the hardworking staff especially the chef Pradeep and his team.

My takeout food smelled like windex or Clorox, there was definitely something wrong (perhaps they sprayed something in the kitchen near the containers they put takeout in?). I didn’t realize until after i took a bite of rice unfortunately… I spit most of it out but it was too late. I threw up and now I’m on my way to the emergency room because poison control has advised that I go.
Meanwhile, my husband went to inform the restaurant of the issue and they dismissed him entirely and refused responsibility.

This restaurant just saved the day for us in Vermont! Most places were packed or already closed during the fall pick, but it went above and beyond by staying open late to accommodate all the visitors, even though their usual closing time is 9 PM. We ordered chicken dumplings, chicken biryani, goat biryani, veg biryani, and chicken kadai with plain rice. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared, with the biryanis being standout favorites, perfectly spiced and cooked just right. The chicken kadai had a rich, savory sauce that paired beautifully with the rice. The only slight miss was the dumplings, which could’ve been a bit better, but overall, the food was excellent.
What really made the experience memorable was the service. Despite the restaurant being crowded, the staff handled everything with warmth and efficiency, making sure everyone was taken care of. Highly recommend this spot for its food and hospitality!
Vegetarian options: There r so many veg options!
Parking: Roadside parking was available when we visited!
Kid-friendliness: Even we had a kid with us! It’s a kid friendly place for sure!
Wheelchair accessibility: It’s an accessible place!

One word : AVOID. If you could take your time to read a couple of negative reviews before going here, you might find a lot of insights and save a lot of time. First of all, I will state that we went on a Sunday evening while it was super busy (as early as 5PM). The restaurant was super cold that we couldn’t sit without jackets. A big group left just within minutes and the restaurant freed up. It took a while for them to take our order but 20 mins later we placed our order and were advised that the momos are frozen and can take 30-40 mins to come. (Do yourself a favor, DO NOT ORDER THE MOMOS). We waited and 2 hours later, we still did not have any food on our table. They come back to check our order and we found out that half the items we ordered wasn’t on their list! And none of the items they had captured outside of the lassis was on our table. The bread was served but no curries with it. Bread goes cold. We sent it back to reheat and bring the curries along! Another 20 mins later (which is now past 2 hours), they tell us chicken momos was missing in the order. And, regretfully the long wait served us super dry, thick, low quality momos. All in all, they need to start with customer service in mind first. We also noticed takeout was prioritized higher. But, hey you lost a lot of customers when you keep them hanging. The chicken biryani was tasteless and bland. Paneer tikka roll was overflowing with oil. If you are able to get yourself to drive towards Burlington, there are better nepali restaurants. We saw lot of folks enter and leave having waited lengthy minutes. They seriously need to start with customer service in mind. And, we walked out without throwing tantrums.Super disappointing.

Went here once a while back - food was good for the most part.
Tried to go tonight and were ignored for abt 10min, other people barged in behind us obviously after us. We were then told would be abt 10min for a table. People behind us then promptly seated while we milled about in the dining area as there's nowhere to wait. Look around and the whole restaurant sans two tables are waiting for food with only water in front of them. We decided to cut our losses and just go to the pho spot down the street.

This is probably the most excited I have been about a restaurant in Vermont's capital city in 10 years! Every morsel is full of fabulous flavor--lamb tikka; shrimp cashew--and they add the right amount of heat. By all means, get the garlic naan. The waiter smirked a bit when he offered "mild medium or hot" and I responded "five." This is a local's favorite for takeout...Wednesday prevening had 7 parties come through in 60 min.
