Great tap list and decent food. Worth a stop if you're going through Montpelier.

We went here with friends who live in the area, they said their burgers were great but there were only two choices on the menu.. I doubt I'll ever go back here.

The band was so awesome and the atmosphere here was great. Again the band made my daughter and I feel like we were at Disneyland in New Orleans square it was a great memory for us. I wish I could remember their name I was visiting from NE but would totally go back to hear them again.

One of the more solid dining options in town (but that’s not saying much).

I’ve gone on a number of occasions. This review is a summation of three visits.

They have an excellent tap list which leans heavily on offerings from Hill Farmstead Brewery. The beer prices tend to be on the high side.

The food is ok. It’s basic pub fare, but again, it’s on the pricey side. I recently had a fried fish sandwich for $15 that only came with a limp dill pickle wedge (no fries). To me, this is kind of chintzy. The sandwich was good quality, however the fish coating had zero flavor. A little seasoning would have improved it.

We also had the Crispy Local Mushrooms with pakora batter. Meh. Not worth the $15 bucks. Pile of flavorless nonsense. The only good thing on the plate was the pickled vegetables. The mushrooms were soggy and flavorless. This dish was a real disappointment.

Orange Cake was nice. I think it’s made with cornmeal. It may have been a special. Not sure.

Service at the bar and in the dining area has always been efficient and pleasant.

There’s no place to hang coats. Why?

Great food and beer. Came in for a later dinner and sat at the bar. The service was friendly. Good selection of different items available. Food was flavorful, the beer was excellent.

I used to really like this place. But in the last few months but there has been some serious issues. Last time we waited an hour for food. Now after ordering a steak and cheese sandwich and waiting 30 minutes or more I was told that they were out of the steak and cheese and I would have to choose an alternative. Which is really frustrating because we had already been waiting for a while for our food. I want to like this place but they are making it very hard. We finally asked, as our food came to the table for the check and our food to go. We were not compensated at all for all the issues and instead had to pay full price for everything. I love the food here but I won't be coming back any time soon.

Update: it's been 3 years. I love this restaurant. I want to support them. I want them to succeed. Their food is good. The servers are kind and helpful. They are always busy. That being said this evening my family and I waited for nearly an hour for 2 fish and chips and a cheese burger. We placed our order just after 7 and didn't get our food til just after 8. I work in a kitchen every day so I understand that kitchens get in the weeds but an hour for 2 staple main dishes is unacceptable given that my fries were cold when they arrived at the table. I'm a local I would be glad to give a different review if we had a better experience.

Had the steak followed by orange cake. A glass of Oregon pinot noir Absolutely excellent food and service. I'll be going back.

They had a local seasonal fried oyster mushroom dish that was excellent. Also had very high quality flash frozen fillets for their fish sandwich. Masterful use of sauces and great fries.

I came in for what I was hoping would be a quick bite, but it took around an hour for my grilled cheese and soup to be brought out to me, which was kinda absurd. It wasn't even that good, the sandwich was rather small, the cheese wasnt very melted. The soup was decent enough.

Granted, I did come in at a weird time (around 3pm) but still.

The only nice part was that the server comped me a drink to make up for it, so they treat their patrons well. But it was a frustrating experience overall

This place is probably one of the better places in Montpelier, but I wouldn’t know. Living 40min away, don’t often get the opportunity to come here for dinner but an event in the city ran late and it seemed like a convenient food option. We were warned when we arrived it would be a 45min wait for food, OK. I get it, foliage season - they were busy.

An hour later we got our food, several groups next to us that had ordered~ 10min prior to us had already cashed out and left. Another group that arrived after us, had already been served their wings. Our food was ok. Given the wait, it was disappointing. The burger bun was burnt and the fries were very under done. I’ve been told their waffle fries are good, but wouldn’t say that was my experience.

Maybe I’ll give them another shot, but more likely to just got to Waterbury.

ONLY SERVICE DOGS! NOT DOG FRIENDLY!! followed everyone's reviews, paid for parking, walked a block. my dog is in a stroller, nobody was in the patio, large sign posted service dogs only. Went in talked to hostess, Monday mid day not busy..she said no to dogs. No to this place if you have non service dogs.
