Excellent experience—awesome outdoor seating area with a comfortable eclectic atmosphere inside! Friendly and attentive waiters/bartenders who were personable and welcoming.Don’t miss out on the beignets!! They are incredible. The country fried chicken meal with eggs, biscuit, potatoes & house-made sauce on top was delicious! 10/10 recommend!

Food was "OK". We were seated just after breakfast service was over ( 12:05pm) so for some reason the cocktail menu was limited? It was quite expensive! Also would have been nice if the server would have mentioned that they had already added a 15% tip so we ended up tipping 35%... who does that? I would not recommend.

Food was good. Drink was very good. Needs a larger food selection. Service was good. Atmosphere is good.

The new dinner menu sucks at least what I've seen of it I have a lot of dietary restrictions so finding something i can order can be tricky but serving a 20 dollar burrito with a side of generic frozen bag tater tots that were soft not crispy and nothing

Big Spruce had been a staple in our food lineup since moving to Burlington. We recently bought a house down the road and stopped in after night riding at Bolton to celebrate with friends. While the food is consistently good the service tonight was exceptional. So much so I’m a few Mezcal margaritas deep writing a review about it. It was Friday night busy and our server never once let us feel forgotten. He was attentive, his outfit was fire and he made sure our drinks were never dry. Can’t wait to walk down the road and be taken care of like this on the regular. ?

We have been eating at the Big Spruce ever since they opened, and we have consistently had a great experience. We were excited to try the new breakfast/ lunch menu…. And it was phenomenal! Hands down the best fried chicken & tater tots we have ever tried. Portions were generous, flavor was perfect, and the service is always outstanding. If you haven’t tried the big spruce yet, run… don’t walk. It’s the best!

My Family have eaten here many times before and enjoyed our meal very much, this time not so much. The place was nearly empty on a Saturday night, which probably should have given us a clue. The waitstaff and Bartender extremely friendly, but the food was very disappointing. We ordered Fried Pickles and Artichokes as an appetizer, both were good but had the same spices on them and way too much salt. They were served with the same dipping sauce which was fine but was craving something else. It was all one note. My son ordered the wedge salad which was a great size, but smothered in dressing, too much dressing, the tacos I got were fried in the same batter as the appetizers and were also extremely salty. My husband didn't even eat the other half of his "Crispy" burrito because it was a soggy mess. It's unfortunate that this awesome little gem of a restaurant didn't add up to our previous visits, but we will not be going anytime in the future. Flavor doesn't always mean more salt, I would rather have to salt something myself, than not be able to eat it because it is over salted and all one note of flavor. I'd really like to continue supporting our community, but this just left an extremely bad taste in my mouth and elevated my blood pressure to its max.

We've been going here for a few years and loved it. But for some reason everything has changed. And not for the better. They no longer take reservations, they don't answer their phone, they've changed/compromised their menu AND their staff was absolutely rude when I last came in to see what was happening. Not a care about losing a long time patron.

Came in for lunch with a bigger group (6) and they were able to accommodate no problem. Great service and food. Went with the juevos rancheros and cleaned the plate. Will definitely be back!

Breakfast was fantastic, the new menu (and hours) are much welcome. Between this and Hatchet, support these people, they’re doing very good things.

Just had the most delicious breakfast-we LOVE the new concept! I wanted to take pictures but we couldn’t hold back from eating long enough! Had chicken and waffles (yes, they use thigh meat, so it’s proper) and huevos rancheros with the house made tortillas. Bloody Mary’s were the perfect amount of spice without heartburn ? So happy to have a breakfast place in Richmond. And thanks to Bella and Emma and their incredible service. Can’t wait to go back! ❤️

Just stepped in to experience the new Breakfast Menu. Everything looks incredible. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy with Sunny-Side Eggs and it was absolutely perfect. Enjoyed my meal very much. So happy we now have one of the best breakfast places around right here in Richmond!
