Polite, outgoing staff. Funky atmosphere. But this is April 2024 in Vermont...one of the greatest foodie states in the US, and the breakfast food here was astonishingly dull, flat, and boring. It's not that it was bad or poorly made and served. It was just BORING. There were no spices visible anywhere near the kitchen, and the food's flavour reflected that. The pancakes likely derived from a very large box whose first ingredient was dehydrated cardboard. At least they were served with real maple syrup. If you're elderly and want unexciting food with predictably little creativity or spice, this is your place. I'll wait until the menu and pizazz improves before I return.Vegetarian options: Not sureWheelchair accessibility: Not sure

A quaint local diner and kitchen serving breakfast and American comfort food. Fun atmosphere with lots of local art, counter, table and bench seating. Friendly staff and a nice "home cooked" style meal.Kid-friendliness: Small town diner feel, fun local art and yummy baked treats like muffins, cookies and cake.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicapped parking on or across the street at the parking lot. First floor dining no ramps or stairs save one to get to the bathroom. Tables can all accommodate wheelchairs.
Super reasonable prices, cute shop (everything labeled!), very nice staff, generous portions, and DELICIOUS food!!10/10, will absolutely be returning with frequency.

Favorite breakfast spot. Food is always great and timely made. A hidden
We were in St J today waiting to close on a piece of land. We parked outside The Kitchen Counter and Cafe to kill some time before the closing. We saw so many people coming and going. That told us this was the place to go. We went into this super bright and busy place. I ordered the corn chowder. It's was perfect and instantly brought back memories of my Mom's recipe. My husband had the tuna melt. He loved it and I couldn't help but notice how fresh the veggies looked with the all white tuna. Great place to discover! We will be back. Hopefully once settled, to be a regular. Thank you!
Cute picturesque diner!I had their special of the day, a turkey bacon sandwich and it was beyond delicious!

Stopped on our drive home after visiting family in Vermont. Delicious lunch included a cheeseburger, Reuben sandwich and chocolate shakes. Comfortable seating and quick service. Would definitely stop again if we are going through St. Johnsbury.

Great food. Sort of self-service. Different. Would easily come back. Drove two hours to get here and would come back . Have fresh for cookies of the day. Wi-Fi available. Nice meat and sandwiches. Great French toast. Some interesting of decorations on the wall.
