I have eaten here in the past and it was fine, but my most recent trip was excellent. The restaurant seems to be under new leadership. The menu is great, service exceptional, and food was perfect. I ordered the strip steak and asked for it to be cooked a very particular way. I rarely order steak at a restaurant unless I know for sure it will be great, but I took a chance this time based on the recommendation of the server. Gorgeous restaurant located outside of the village on Stratton mountain, in the black Bear Lodge. Friendly service with a smile and delicious food. The black bear burger was juicy seasoned to perfection. And for dessert we had a chocolate peppermint martini from the bar. It was so delicious! It tasted like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Five stars!
