I arrived around 8 in the morning excited to try their donuts and it was absolutely worth the 40 minute drive. The donuts are delicious with a more dense cakey like dough that's just different compared to somewhere like dunkin' donuts. They are filling that's for sure, and with a coffee or tea a very delicious treat. I highly recommend checking them out.
Mad River Donuts is a small shop with big creativity. The frosting and glaze flavors are delightfully unconventional — matcha, espresso, lemon, raspberry — but what makes them special is that they’re not just sweet novelties. Every one of them tastes genuinely good, and the frosting is applied generously enough to feel indulgent in the best way.
If you’re lucky, you’ll visit on a day when they have bagels. Those are exceptional too — freshly baked, with a texture so good you can enjoy them plain, no toppings needed.

The BEST donuts I have ever had in my life. They’re reasonably priced and the service is quick and friendly. I recommend the raspberry donut.

Absolutely incredible donuts! These are red alert destination worthy! I'm a guy who sells it good donuts and these might be my favorite all time. Absolutely top 3. They have lattes and could brew which is doubly great to go with my sugar intake. The dining area has some toys for kids to play with so I can eat my donut and drink my coffee while the kids entertain themselves for a few minutes.
