We came here for our anniversary and had an amazing meal! The zucchini fritter bite and the fried calamari were to die for! My husband got the beef tenderloin and I got the duck breast; both were delicious! The chocolate ganache dessert was also fantastic! I can’t say enough about how thoughtful all of the dishes were that we had. Our server, Gavin, did an amazing job making recommendations as well! Truly a wonderful dining experience at Michael’s on the Hill!
We’ve been dreaming of visiting Michael’s on the Hill for ages. Finally, we made it! It’s a really great place, for the price I was expecting, to be wowed with every dish. Duck Confit was the highlight.
The best part? It’s dog-friendly! I can’t remember our server’s name, but he was an absolute legend! He was a huge fan of Portugal and Ronaldo, which was a fun touch.
Best decision to spend my birthday here! The atmosphere was so cozy, the staff was so nice and accommodating and the food was amazing! We ordered the tenderloin steak and fish of the day. The steak was so good and even better than other steak weve had in NYC. The fish was so soft and sweet. Amazing. The only thing we didnt like was the dessert which was the coconut matcha panna cotta. The waiter, Megan, saw we didnt eat so she removed it from our bill - without of asking for it and even mentioning we didnt like it. Thats truly the type of service that is topnotch! If you're here in Vermont and want a special dinner, I highly recommend this place.
Food is nasty
We recently celebrated a birthday with a group of about 17 people at this restaurant, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The appetizers and main courses were not good at all. The beef tenderloin had an unpleasant smell, the monkfish was far too sour, and the lamb rack did not compare to what we’ve had at other restaurants.
We asked the staff to bring out our cake so we could cut it ourselves, but they had already cut it into pieces before bringing it to the table. This took away from the special moment of celebrating with an uncut cake.
Overall, the communication, food quality, and taste were all below our expectations, and the prices were quite high for what we received. None of us were satisfied with our experience, and we would not return or recommend this restaurant to others. This is an honest review reflecting how we felt during our celebration.
Amazing dinner! Great food as Always!
Wow!! My husband was not real excited when I told him where I had made reservations for dinner. He changed his tune once we got our appetizer. We had the Crab Salad and it was amazing. We both had the fish for the main course and it was so unique and delicious. We will be back for sure!
V good 👍 👌 👏
Definitely recommend, great food, great service. Must go.
Came here to celebrate getting engaged to my fiancé at Stowe! The food was incredible - I've never had better spaetzle in my life. My only complaint is that the restaurant was very cold! Definitely wear some layers if you go in the winter.

Knife on the table had something visible on jt. Food took over an hour, people who sat after us had their entree before we did. Delivered the wrong entree to my wife and had to wait for the right one to come out. Mushroom pappardelle was insanely good.
Great place.
Great location, great drinks and wine. Beautiful atmosphere and our waiter was great. However, food was pretty meh. One of the great things about food in Vermont is the freshness of the local ingredients; here we found a cheese board with gross fruit, beat up or unripe. Steak tartar seemed very dry and like it had been prepared long beforehand. A tragic surprise in the foodie heaven of the Waterbury Stowe area.
I can’t say enough good things about Michael’s on the Hill! We went here for our elopement dinner and we were very touched how everyone went above and beyond to make our dinner special! And of course the food was amazing too! We both had the beef tenderloin and couldn’t stop talking about how good it was and how it cut like butter. But really everything we tried was amazing. Already planning on coming back for our first anniversary and can’t wait for it!
Great experience, really good food 🙂
