“When in Vermont, you HAVE to visit the Ben & Jerry's Factory. The place is on the way to other attractions that are a must-see in Vermont. We first started with the tour. The tour collects in the gift shop that has fun branded things to buy as well as their ice cream!! The tour was cute. It wasn't long. They took us through the factory and the process of making the ice cream. We ended the tour in the test kitchen where we got to sample some of the new Churro ice cream, which was delish! They have a shop where you can buy cups, cones, and even a HUGE sundae to share. The ice cream shop itself got really busy with patrons. I also wish there were more Vermont-exclusive flavors. The only one they had had nuts in it, so I decided against it. In the summer, they have tables that you can sit out outside and the garage door of the scoop shop looks to open which creates a nice al fresco situation. There is a photo op with the Ben and Jerry's van. Next, head over to the flavor graveyard! Notes: Buy your tickets in ADVANCE. They are only open on certain days, so plan ahead.“
“Red Barn ice cream is a unique place since they have custom and seasonal ice cream flavours made with locally sourced ingredients from Vermont. In fall, they sell a maple soft serve which is a must try! They also sell goods from local farms such as maple cookies, maple syrup, jellies, salsa verde etc. Purchasing from Red Barn is the true essence of supporting local businesses :)“
“Yum! Chocolate truffles and hot cocoa! Lake Champlain Chocolates is a delightful shop where everything keeps getting sweeter the further you make your way in! I loved their signature hot cocoa stand where they also offer coffee drinks, specialty shakes, and ice cream. The women working the counter were patient and helpful. I'm so thankful we stopped here for a treat on our road trip through Stowe Vermont! My friends & family really loved the take-home truffle packs I brought home as gifts!“
