Good food and good atmosphere. Friendly staff too. I had the fish and chips which was very good. My friend had a hamburger which he said was very good. And my wife and her friend enjoyed the lamb meatballs. Great stop on our road trip.

35+ years ago - we used to frequent this restaurant (under a diff name/ownership). While on vacation from South Carolina...we weren't sure what to expect after all this time.... but we were not disappointed! Not only was the service incredible, but the food....wow! There are not enough words to say how amazing and delicious the appetizers and main courses were!!! We only wish we had additional time to have another dinner there.

We were seated quite quickly, but it then took 10-15 minutes for our waitress to appear to take our drink orders, and she took our food order at the same time. There were three of us who ordered iced tea and a coffee. It took another 20 minutes for her to bring us our drinks. We waited at close to an hour, 40-50 at least, for our food. The food was okay, but it was definitely not worth that wait. Realizing the trend with how long it took for our waitress to reappear, we asked for the check and paid it when she brought the food, and it still took 15 minutes AFTER we were done eating for her to bring our change.
We witnessed a few people leave because no one greeted them, and there was a sign to wait to be seated. There were people at the door, as we were leaving, who said they'd asked 3 times for someone to seat them.
There was obvious tension between staff, with the hostess seeming quite frustrated with the waitress. It was not a great experience, and I hope others won't have the same.

We only stopped in for a quick bite and didn't know what to expect. WOW were we pleasantly surprised! My father had a great burger lunch and I had the arguably BEST cobb salad I've ever had anywhere on this planet (and I've stayed on most of the continents). The service was fantastic as well. We met the owner this day and we felt as if we were greeted as old friends. OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE.

Went with friends tonight for dinner. Ordered calamari with no hot peppers. Was ordered with hot peppers by someone other than our waitress our server never checked in. All of us ordered clam chowder and it is definitely homemade very heavy on the onions and had a few bad potatoes in the soup. Three of us ordered lobster rolls with French fries and coleslaw, the other brick chicken with basmati rice and fresh vegetables. Two of the lobster rolls came out and then there was a five minute gap before the third was delivered with the chicken dinner. finally remaining simmered were served. Chicken dinner - chicken was excellent, served with large portion of plain white basmati rice and six pieces of vegetable that was extremely charred, certainly not worth the price. Lobster rolls were good and came with melted “butter” that was orange (eww), coleslaw that all three people said was unstable and great French fries. The lobster was good though in a somewhat soggy roll. Not once did anyone come to check on our table after the meals dropped….. about ten minutes after we Completed the meals the waitress finally stopped by. Service should have been much better. We all agreed that it was mediocre and we would not be back

On 7/26/24 Friday evening, my husband & I stopped at The New England House for dinner and waited for the hostess 10 minutes. Another couple waiting for take out stated she was in the back getting their food. We should have left then but we stayed. When finally seated, our order was taken promptly. We waited about 35 minutes for our food. There was only one other couple in the room that we were seated in. The cook kept ringing the bell 5 to 6 times. We could see from our table it was our order. We decided to leave. We left money on the table for our drinks. As we were walking out, the hostess was coming in and said thank you. I would not recommend this place for lack of service. We can't say how the food was since it was never delivered to our table. We were traveling to NH to deal with my father's estate. It was supposed to be a relatively quick stop. We always stop at the Vermont deli but it was closed. From now if the Vermont deli is closed, I guess it's MacDonald's instead. It should have no stars but there was no option.

We had a great meal here! They were very busy and short-staffed and the service was still on point. I would like to try their brunch as I was there for dinner.

Went in around Noon on a Thursday.. took 10 minutes to get seated. Seems waitstaff and kitchen were short staffed today.. food took about an hour. Got the salmon eggs Benedict.. both eggs were poached hard and didn’t run at all. There was also a bottom cut off stem of an avocado on my plate and nothing we ordered came with avocado.

Ordered 2 lobster rolls and a new england clam chowder. They forgot our clam chowder completely. The lobster rolls were tiny for 30$ each. Not worth it at all. We left hungry.
