Great building and setting. Even better food. And top notch service and staff, the best I've had in awhile. The view is really cool and beautiful, but it can be hard to get a table with a view. I think it's always packed, so a reservation would be a good idea.
Just keep coming back to this place, usually will drive an hour plus depending on where I am in VT. Good idea to make reservations but easy to do online. Cocktails and food never disappoint - service is always top notch and wait staff seems happy to be there. The views out to the falls on the Winooski river are unreal. Go here for dinner!

Feels like being at the Jersey Shore boardwalk
The setting at Waterworks is undeniably beautiful. The riverfront and boardwalk are absolutely worth visiting and made for a lovely evening. Unfortunately, the meal was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time.
I ordered the blackened salmon, and I honestly don’t know how something labeled “blackened” could have so little flavor. Blackened seasoning is supposed to be bold and distinctive, yet the salmon had virtually no seasoning at all. It wasn’t just bland—it was surprisingly bland.
The presentation mirrored the flavor. The piece of salmon was quite small, topped with a mound of fresh greens that, while crisp, had no noticeable dressing and added little color or contrast to the plate. Everything was shades of pale green and beige. Even the fingerling potatoes lacked seasoning. The meal wasn’t just bland in taste; it was bland in appearance.
I also ordered the Lavender Menace, the restaurant’s Pride Month specialty cocktail. It was equally underwhelming. The drink was muted in both color and flavor, with no garnish or presentation that made it feel like a specialty cocktail. It was another missed opportunity.
By the end of the meal, I was simply ready to leave. The beautiful location cannot justify the price when the food and drinks are this disappointing. In hindsight, I would have had a far better evening picking up a sandwich and a soda and enjoying them on the boardwalk for free while taking in the same beautiful view.
Waterworks has an incredible setting and so much potential. Unfortunately, based on this experience, the food and drinks fell far short of the standard the location and prices suggest.

Food and drinks are a bit of an eclectic take on a variety of fare. Good, but not great. Bar is well stocked, with a wide variety of cocktails, that and the view are the highlights
Great place great food fantastic drink and delicious food.
Great location on the river. Outside seating with heaters was very comfortable food and drinks good service was great
I'm always impressed with how well put together this operation is. Not my favorite menu, but it's ambitious while maintaining consistent quality. Great staff and service.

I've been here twice and thought it was delicious. Both times. Was a little disappointed on my most recent trip because the server was delinquent. Had to track them down at the end of the mill. But other than that it's a fantastic place to eat. It's expensive so it's more of a special occasion place or a place for those with disposable income. It's in a great location. And the food matches the location so they've got that as a win. I will definitely go back. You should make reservations. Unless you're willing to sit at the bar. You're probably not going to get in without reservations.

Violently ill about an hour after eat a wedge salad. Felt fine before and after. According to some chatter from others that ate there that evening I wasn’t alone. Wouldn’t have posted but called and advised the restaurant and never got a call back. A bit disappointing after spending $250.
