Terrific food, amazing and attentive waitstaff! The restaurant manager was very friendly and attentive. It really makes you feel welcome. Can't wait to go back!
Waitperson Cory (?) was awesome. I didn't like my food (mushroom risotto, bland; apple tart, meh) but my two companions loved their food. The ambience is like a coo lounge full of cool antiques and curios.
No complaints. Staff was attentive but not over bearing. Very nice dining room. Portions were large, wish they were smaller. My wife ordered the Calamari appetizer. It was delicious and we shared it after I finished my New England clam chowder, which was also delicious. The meatloaf was very different ( in a good way) from my mom's meatloaf. We both had green beans as a side. They were prepared perfectly, crunchy but not raw. After over eating we shared a crème boulet that was excellent. We were not guests at the Inn, it was worth the trip from the town of Woodstock.
The food and service was perfect!! The ambiance is fantastic and the decor spot on. We had a great dinner
What a little gem. Great menu. Experienced server. Upscale crowd. A bit more intimate and a lot less raucous than the scene at the Woodstock Inn. Terrific view.
We have been about 3-4 times and the food is always incredible! Absolutely delicious. Our waiter Ryan is just the best!! Professional, personable . The ambience. Is wonderful, you're sitting in such comfortable chairs , lighting , music , fire. Had an extra bottle Of wine. Was just perfect. Have sent family to stay and dine there as well. Highly recommended it.
I'm giving this restaurant a mixed review. Some of the food was very good, i.e., the mussels, caesar salad, drinks, but the entrees were a little disappointing. The chicken was not as tender as it should have been, and the salmon was fine, but not spectacular. Given the prices, I expected more. The service was excellent, however.
Great food, service & ambience. Come back every year while staying in the area. We've have had the same waiter each time. He's great!
Great experience at 506 Bistro. Our waiter was great and very attentive. We ordered the mussels which was excellent. I had the sea bass special with risotto and it was spot on. The sea bass was cooked perfectly and the risotto was not runny like many restaurants have done. It has a good wine list by the glass and the room is very quaint to eat in. I would highly recommend a visit to the Bistro!
Our family of four had another wonderful experience at this resturant, and it truly lived up to our expectations for a second visit. From the moment we arrived, the ambience was warm, and inviting, and thoughtfully designed - perfect for a relaxed yet special family meal. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with everyone at the table finding something they genuinely enjoyed. What really stood out, though, was the service: attentive, friendly and professional without ever feeling rushed. It is clear that the staff makes its guests feel welcome. The second visit confirmed what we felt the first time will absolutely be returning again for dinner and recommending it to family and friends.

Great service, the holiday meal was buffet, the server, while overwhelmed with tables was really nice and helpful. The pastry chef was over the top in accommodating our gluten free members of our party.
In past experiences one server for a restaurant of this size is understaffed, but Ryan with the help of the bar tender was on top of everything and I made a point of watching. They were both outstanding
We spent the night at the Inn on the River three days before Christmas as a pre-holiday getaway. The dining experience was lovely highlighted by a lovely multi-purpose great room including a bar, seats by the fire and restaurant tables. We arrived at 4pm, had a cocktail by the fire and engaged in a lovely conversation with a couple from Long Island. We then moved to the bar where we watch the Steelers-Lions game while enjoying our second cocktail and a crab cake appetizer. Our evening was capped off by a delicious dinner -- steak frites for me and lobster ravioli for my husband. The vibe was vibrant and festive and the meal excellent. Service was also outstanding despite a waiter juggling many tables. We will definitely be back!
Ambience is amazing and so very quiet. Service was perfect and the food was very good. Not too large of a menu but certainly enough to please everyone. Would definitely dine there again.
Excellent food. Great service and love the ambiance. The bistro steak was perfectly grilled. Both the calamari and crab cakes are recommend highly. Love the ambiance with the fireplace and classy, QUIET background music Love this place!
