Whether seated in the pub or in a private room in the front, the Barnard Inn provides the perfect atmosphere where you always feel welcome. The waitstaff is top notch and the food consistently excellent. They accommodated for vegetarians with options, although we provided advanced notice about this. For years, this has been our family's go-to for a special night out. A place to be savored and to relax into.

Great place to wnjoy delicious food after Killington ski/nowboarding. They have hot fresh food and drinks available. Fillet mignon is $53 and it’s amazing. Home made food and very friendly stuff. Spend 40 driving minutes from Killington and enjoy this amazing place.

Food was ok, the automatic 20% tip is ridiculous, the waitress was incompetent . I would never visit again! We had no idea there was an automatic tip and I don't mind tipping (I'm a former waitress) but the waitress was surly when we questioned it. Keep this one off your list!!

Absolutely outstanding! We visited the Barnard for my 60th birthday and we were quite a large group. Corrine did a fabulous job coordinating in advance for folks with allergies. The service and the food were beyond delicious. Everyone's dish was delicious! We had a nice selection of appetizers in advance, yummy cocktails and the the price fix menu. Corrine - thank you, your husband a wonderful chef, and your staff for such a memorable meal and occasion. We will be returning.

I am so glad I did not read the reviews before I made a reservation. My husband and I went to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. We were greeted with smiles and congratulated on our anniversary. We were quickly seated and brought complimentary glasses of champagne. We were in the small dining area at the front of the house. Everything about the area was pleasant and cozy. The service throughout the evening was exemplary and the food outstanding from start to finish. We look forward to frequenting this establishment again.

A SERVICE CHARGE WAS ADDED TO THE BILL WITHOUT PRIOR INFORMED CONSENT AND AUTHORIZATION. IE A REPLACEMENT FOR TIP. THIS IS CRASS AND UNCONSCIONABLE.

We booked a private room at the Barnard in for my sister’s bachelorette party and the experience fell far short of what I was hoping for. First of all, when I initially reached out I was looking for a private chef at our nearby Airbnb. After receiving quotes and beginning to plan, I was told they could no longer offer the private chef service and that we would have to come to the restaurant. I agreed, even though the charge was the same for coming to the restaurant as it was to cook for us at the Airbnb.Leading up to the event, I reached out to Corinna multiple times seeking assistance regarding the quote she provided, but she was always too busy to get back to me. I hardly heard from Corinna until she reached out to confirm our arrival time the day before the event.Once we arrived, they were not quite ready for us, but we still really enjoyed the cocktail hour. The drinks were great and the space was lovely. Then we were brought to our dining room.To be honest, it felt like juSt another dining room in the restaurant and we would have been sat there due to party size if we had just made a regular reservation. But I paid $500 JUST to be in this room.Service was decent, though anyone drinking soft drinks had a hard time getting a drink. Food was pretty good as well. The quote said it would be family style, but we all just ordered off the menu. Overall the dinner was fine, just fell short of what I had envisioned and not worth the money. We asked for a group photo at one point and although Corinna agreed to take it, she rushed us and made us feel like a nuisance for asking. We also overheard staff talking about us being a bachelorette party in a really unfavorable way. We were respectful, courteous, and actually quite low key as bachelorette parties are coming concerned. And then we got the bill. Although we were not in charge of how quickly service moved through the meal, we were charged $200 of overtime. When I reached out to dispute, I was met with a lot of attitude from Corinna and not very much customer service, especially considering I had just spent well over $2k, maybe close to $3k at the restaurant. Corinna basically said that it was my responsibility to understand and adhere to the timeline and said “I’m sorry if hosting is new to you”. I explained that this is actually my first time hosting this type of event. Additionally, I cannot adhere to the timeline of the service is not running on time. She continued to state that what was in the estimate was binding, yet she never made herself available to discuss the estimate with me despite multiple requests and the estimate itself contained TBD’s, including menu and drink options that were never discussed. All in all it was a very disappointing experience and I would NOT recommend them for special events. Corinna does not know how to talk to people, she can be quite condescending and is either unaware or does not care.

Lovely antique environment - yet with modern art touches. Absolutely delicious food. Watermelon gazpacho a seared salmon, lobster gnocchi and a berry crumble with vanilla ice cream dessert. That's what we ordered. Absolutely a lovely dining experience! Everything was so obviously fresh, well prepared. Its a real charming over the river and through the woods vibe from Woodstock or Quechee.
