Best seafood for a snack bar it's always good! I go there every summer! See you next year!

First and foremost the staff were very nice. The restaurant was also clean. However, was so so disappointed in the portion size of the food for the price. The clam chowder was so delicious but it was in a styrofoam bowl that couldn’t even hold 1 measuring cup of soup. ($6??) also never have been up this close to Maine so we saw they had a lobster roll and boy how disappointing was that. It was a piece of toasted bread, one piece of lettuce but a good amount of lobster on it. No seasonings and dry. I hate to leave bad reviews but I have to put a buyer beware for this. Our whole meal was $65 and we were still hungry leaving. We decided to get a lobster roll from amatos in the maple gas station for $16 and it was absolutely delicious.

Cash only. We had popcorn shrimp, clam strips and onion rings. Everything we had was delicious. Almost everyone around us had a chili dog. The restaurant was clean. Staff was friendly. You can eat inside or out and the views are beautiful. Plenty of parking. We had our food within 15 minutes and then back on the road. Stop in for a good and quick meal.

I've driven past this area staple upwards of a hundred times, but since the adjacent Woodstock Farmers Market was closed on Sunday, it was well overdue that I give this recent flood victim business a try.Atmosphere? They're still recovering from Vermont flood part two a few months ago after being decimated years earlier in Hurricane Irene.Food? The all-time sloppiness, chunkier, bean laden chili dog of my life... but actually good.Service? Order at the window, and they call your name.Price? About $15 for a chili dog, fries, and coke.

Very average food , nothing special and they serve really hot soup in plastic bowl’s which is horrendous for health. The burgers charred to death , too much batter on the clams , if you missed this place , you haven’t missed anything.Plus I guess they don’t want to pay taxes so take only cash not wanting to pay the service card companies is just an excuse.Everything is just very average or below average .Also read some of their responses to previous customer complains , calling them racially charged words like Karen etc very off putting .

The fish sandwich was delicious and huge. The onion rings were fresh and homemade. My husband also liked his burger. I wish we would have eaten outside along the river. Cute place.

Tasty food at a fair price! Menu was pretty large, and they serve a ton of flavours of Giffords ice cream. My fries were hot and crispy, and my burger was cooked exactly how I ordered it. It was our first time here, and the ordering was a little confusing, but nothing too difficult. Mainly just that it was hard to tell where the line was for ordering vs who was waiting for food. It was a busy night though so it might've been a little chaotic from that.

First things first - cash only but there's a cash machine in the restaurant. I have been coming here for 20+ years, and compared to my husband's family, I'm late to the game. Our daughter (now 21) had her first milkshake here. We've taken family photos in the river shallows behind the restaurant. What brings us back are the fried clams and the familiarity. It's an institution. No frills: order at the window, wait til your name is called. But the clams are perfect. Crispy fried on the outside, juicy and briny on the inside, consistently delicious. I've also had and enjoyed their burgers, fries, and onion rings. My family members loved their summer special lobster rolls, and were back for seconds within five days of having them the first time. I don't recommend the fried scallops, but only because the breading doesn't stay on. The scallop meat itself was sweet and tasty. There is indoor seating but the picnic tables outside are where to be if weather permits. Long live White Cottage!

Great little place to stop for lunch. Enjoy your lunch out back at the picnic tables by the river. Reminded me of places I grew up eating at. Good burger and I highly recommend the onion rings.

The food is always good here. It's a burger joint with typical New England food, including fish and chips and other fried seafood. It's great to eat outdoors by the river and feel free to bring your dog! The staff are friendly and the food is often done shortly after ordering - just be sure to stay close so you can hear when your name is called! Don't forget to try some Gifford's Ice Cream too! It's delicious!!

A lovely setting with outdoor riverside (and indoor) seating. We tried fried clams, fried scallops, cole slaw, sweet potato fries, chocolate milk shake and a coke. The people working here are very pleasant and food is cooked to order. Every item was good, not great. Two small details impacted the 3.5 rating: Cash only No cocktail sauce although they have tarter sauce and ketchup.

Our table got two cheeseburgers, grilled chicken sandwich and a whole belly fried clam dinner and the food was great! Place is having work done because of rain/flood damage but still running. Cash only but they have an ATM. Not fancy just good food and can be busy.

This place is a night mare. The food is terrible and the owner is horrible. Also this place is now out of business as it was washed out again on July 10th. Great the owner deserves it.

You will find a variety of comfort foods that are prepared well but nothing really stands out and it truly feels like a snack bar at a baseball game type of food. It was good and it will hit the spot but that's about it. The staff is super nice and friendly, and the food is prepared on time. Plus sitting outside by the river is very pleasant. It's cash only though cause its 1970? Honestly we almost didn't come here as we weren't sure we had enough cash. They should just charge the 3% credit card fee and make this an option.Kid-friendliness: Lots of simple kid friendly options and the ice cream is a big sell for any kid.Parking: plenty of parking space
