Last September, my husband and I dined here with longtime friends visiting from the East Coast. And we chose this place especially for this reunion. We have been dining here for years. Prices have risen steadily since 2020. $14 for a small strawberry tart is too high. The shrimp noodles, spicy dumplings, egg rolls, fresh rolls, and other very popular menu items we’ve had throughout the years have been of better quality regarding freshness, taste, preparation and presentation, and of course priced less and more reasonably in the recent past. Please be consistent in quality.

Also, the outdoor dining area with its neglected houseplants, no view, scaffolding, sticky tables, road noise, and food on the concrete floor, are unwelcoming. Please clean and pay closer attention to detail or else the restaurant is just another place that serves inconsistent Asian food, not fine dining. Thanks.

Ba Sa has delicious food, awesome staff, and a cool vibe.

We had the chicken buns, the Chili Prawn Noodle, and Beef Pho.

Popped in for lunch. Food is very good. The pho broth is delicious and the taro egg rolls are dangerously moorish. Mussels also highly recommended. Friendly staff and efficient service.

A friend and I were visiting from across the sound and we grabbed a late lunch at Ba Sa on a drizzly Saturday afternoon in November. We arrived around 2:30 pm and it was packed, so we added ourselves to the waitlist. After around 25 minutes of exploring the town, we received a text that our table was ready. It was the best meal I’ve had in a long time and that’s saying something because I eat pretty darn delicious food frequently (at home and out and about). Between the two of us, we split the spicy truffle wontons, the garlic bok choy, and the chili oil prawn noodle. We ate every bite…we were seriously considering licking the plates. We did ask for the remaining sauce from the spicy truffle wontons to be put in a bowl, which we poured over the white rice. Just sooo good. Staff was kind and prompt. Definitely recommend, definitely worth the wait, definitely will be back.

I ate here in October 2023. The food overall was very good but I am specifically writing this review in regards to the SIZZLING LEMONGRASS LAMB that was on the menu at that time.

That was the greatest dish I have ever had the honor to consume. And I think it’s important to add that I live in Las Vegas and make it a point to eat at all the best restaurants. But I think about this lamb almost daily, it haunts me. Not to be graphic but following the consumption of the meal that day I looked forward to each and every burp because they gave me the opportunity to relive it. Since then, I have searched Vietnamese restaurants where I live and have googled recipes but to no avail have I found a dupe. I have seriously contemplated making the pilgrimage back to Bainbridge just for this lamb.

Now, I have kept tabs and see that the menu changes periodically. I implore the owner to bring the same recipe for that lamb back and also if you are considering opening a store in Las Vegas just know I will be there weekly and will take everyone I know. Thank you.

I got the Dry Aged ribeye pho and it was phenomenal. Excellent food, friendly staff. The outdoor seating area is a little stark in its atmosphere but the outdoor heaters helped a lot. Great place for dinner or lunch.

Ba Sa is located in the center of town on Bainbridge Island. Plenty of street & some lot parking nearby. The tables in the front part of the restaurant get lots of attention, while the back tables seem to be a bit neglected by wait staff.

Our party of 4 sat in back of the restaurant and it was pretty chilly on this autumn weekday for lunch. We had a few appetizers, the tofu and eggplant entree and the beef pho. The portions are quite large. I wish our waiter had come by more often to see if we needed more water or anything else. I thought the food was good, but service, not so much.

Perhaps one of the most skippable venues on the island. Service is inattentive, servers do not assist tables not assigned to them for even the smallest thing. It is honestly offensive that they consider themselves to be Vietnamese in any way, even Vietnamese fusion. It is absolutely amazing to me that this place was able to weather the pandemic whereas many other places more deserving of staying open could not. The entire concept is an assault on Vietnamese cuisine.

Pacing was entirely off. We watched another table get all their entrees at once after their appetizer. We skipped the appetizer and ordered 3 entrees. The pho came out 10 minutes before everything else.

Pho broth was too cloudy for pho, noodles too thick. Beef was okay. Red onion is an interesting choice, not one that I cared for.

The only thing about the banh mi was that Vietnamese was the banh mi roll it was on, but it was stale and lukewarm. Barely toasted and tasted like it was a few days old.

Pork chop rice was okay, pork was soft but lacked Vietnamese flavor. Server did not provide knife for pork chop and had us wait a few moments before we could get his attention. The pickled onions are not very Vietnamese and didn't need to be added in.

The only positive note about my experience here is that staff did not have an attitude about the 1 cent tip that I left and that there are plenty of other restaurants nearby to fill up on if this place left you feeling gastronomically frustrated.

Please READ:

This was my 2nd time at this place. We went back b/c we thought the food was great! (And this remains true). However I had a terrible experience with the service provided.

I have a service dog (not emotional support) for PTSD and anxiety. After the waitress asked me the tasks the dog performed, she went back to talk to her manager. She came to our table saying that "the restaurant would make an exception" because the local health department is very strict with dogs inside and that next time I would have to sit outside. I explained to the waitress that local restrictions don't overrule FEDERAL law and tried to educate her about SD. She then started raising her voice, talking over phone, and then said "I don't have time for this" and walked way, leaving me talking alone. I felt extremely embarrassed in front of other people and my friends. I then went to talk to the manager and asked to change tables because I didn't want that waitress helping our table. She promptly said yes and was super nice. Tho still talking about local restrictions. In our new table, the waitress came AGAIN and "apologized" very rudely and once again, CUT ME OFF when I was talking and left.

I'm Asian and an immigrant, I'm 100% sure that if I was white the treatment would be different. So that's another issue. Surprising as well given that this is an Asian restaurant. Before all that, when we first got to our table, I saw the same waitress being extremely rude with the hostess (who turned out to be Asian as well) because he let us inside with the dog.

The food is great, drinks are amazing, but this experience just ruined everything. Racism, prejudice, discrimination, all combined. I hope the owners provide better training to all employees, starting by respecting federal law.
