The manager deserves special recognition and words don't do her amazing efforts enough justice! “I wish I had found this place earlier… a must go when you enjoy good, fresh and less processed food - which was surprisingly hard for me in Seattle.

I had a Kitanda bread and an Açaí bowl and both were delicious and freshly made.
The Flate White was also pretty good!“

“Had a small mistake made by an employee while making the payment. When I realized and asked about it, they handled it and fixed professionally, hence rating 5 stars for service. Got an acai bowl which was good. The place is a bit too cold to eat an acai bowl in the winter though 😄 I parked at a nearby apartment’s retail parking and there are some street parking, but not sure if there’s other designated, more convenient parking spots.“

“I stopped in today and was delighted by the sweetest worker, Nyah. She mentioned it was her first solo shift, and I have to say, she did absolutely amazing. She greeted every customer with so much patience, grace, and kindness, and handled each interaction with confidence and care. I also really appreciated how attentive she was to my dietary restrictions she listened, double-checked everything, and made sure I felt comfortable and taken care of. “LOVE this place! I have a lot of dietary restrictions (AIP) due to an autoimmune disease and can rarely eat out while also having the food be compliant. The staff was great about making a few changes to my smoothie and checking ingredients. I was so excited to see bone broth on the menu and oh my goodness!! It was incredible! I got the Immunity Chicken broth and I had to restrain myself from ordering another before I finished my smoothie. So good! Can’t wait to go back again and I am very pleased to finally have a place I can go eat out with friends. Thank you Sano!“

“I stop by Kitanda in the U District pretty often, and I’m always impressed by how fast and consistent they are. Even when it’s busy, the staff keeps things moving and the service is smooth.

They’re not super chatty, but they’re polite, quick, and get the job done right, which I actually prefer when I’m on the go. Great spot for a quick and tasty bite!“

“It's hard for me to understand some of the reviews on this location being negative. I have been coming here every Sunday for the past two years, and have always had a good experience and the smoothies have always been excellent no matter who was making it. The staff there are courteous and friendly. The store itself is always impeccably clean and well organized, and is the nicest E.C.S location I've been to by far. I have a choice on where to buy a smoothie and there is a reason I have been coming here for the past two years. They are good at what they do and are consistently good. Would recommend getting a smoothie here to anybody I know.....Would give them six stars if I could.“

“We stop by every chance we get. Awesome açaí bowls, cheese bread and sandwiches and of course the coffee is great. Always a pleasure to visit this place. We are from Dallas TX and wish there was a location at home 🤩❤️“

“The juice and protein snack I got were both exactly what I had hoped and wanted. There are prebottled juices and juice shots at the front of the shop. I usually find that I need to ring the bell on the front counter to have someone take my order. They are quite responsive to that bell.

My normal order is a green apple detox and a serving of their coconut protein snack (2 per container, and plenty for a good snack). I go here fairly regularly and the staff now remembers my order when I go in. It is lovely to know they remember me from one visit to another.

The fresh squeezed juice has always met or exceeded my expectations. The best deal on the menu is a serving of 2 protein waffles with several options for toppings. (PB&J, chocolate banana, avocado and bagel seasoning) For $4.99 they are worth the stop.“

“This place is my go-to for fresh fruit smoothies. It's a grab-and-go type of shop, easily accessible with ample, free parking outside and a bus stop steps away. I've probably never been inside more than five consecutive minutes, nor seen a line more than two people long.

The operator, Zach, is friendly, fast, and pressure-free-patient as you choose a regular or large size from the display of 40 recipes. He's also a certified nutritionist (a plaque on the wall says so).

You might think from the intense flavors that the smoothies here are loaded with added sugars, but--surprise--that sweetness is completely natural! (I've tried replicating the quality myself, and can vouch for the wonders of banana and citrus.)

As a quick source for a healthy indulgence whether I'm too busy for a full meal, feeling under the weather, or wrapping up a workout, Emerald City Smoothie holds a special spot on Aurora Ave and in my heart.“

“There is a gate to enter the community which was closed before this place's closing time. Entry was very confusing and I had to walk alot to figure out how to enter the place. Luckily, someone living in community was entering through the main gate and I could request and enter with him.

“This location has very friendly and knowledgeable staff. All the smoothies have ordered have been pretty good. The rewards card is nice and the daily rewards are fun deals.

Handicap accessible single customer restroom.

One major drawback of this location
is after they clean the floors the whole shop has a terrible chemical smell for awhile. They have one large fan to help circulate the air, but it doesn’t help much. It makes it hard to breathe and ruins my palette. Management should switch to an unscented cleaner, tweak the chemical/water ratio, or improve airflow. It must be hard on the staff to breathe that in during theshift. Also people coming in after their workout in the neighboring Planet Fitness.“
