Today is my 60 years birthday and my kids insist celebrating it at DAN GUI Sichuan Cuisine as they visited it many times and spoke very highly of it. Glad I listened to them and am truly impressed, not only the delicious food but also the owner & his team of good staff. They surprised me and made my birthday the most memorable one. Came here last night. The place was packed which is a good sign. They have a sign in and text system which works for me. Their food cleanliness score is just ok (posted outside on the window) and although the food was clean and I had no issues the pitcher of water on the table looked kinda gross ngl I wouldn't drink from the pitchers. No big deal tho I didn't come here for the water. The sweet and sour pork was great, instead of clumpy mushy balls they were thin strips which allowed for a much better crisp/carmelization ratio and a better taste and texture than most sweet and sour pork's. I really wish every Chinese restaurant did their chicken dishes this way. The spicy boiled beef had a good mixture of spice mixed with the minced garlic and seasoning on top was really flavorful. Shrimp fried noodles hit the spot for my Americanized Chinese taste as well. Overall I found this place better than Tian Fu. Lots of authentic dishes but also stuff for the white folk lol

Food was authentic (maybe Chongqing?), fresh ingredients. Haven’t had these flavors since we left China! Best Chili Chicken on the West Coast! The frog was really good! How did they get such fresh frog in the US!? The waitress Connie was really nice, and made our family feel really welcome! A lot like being back in China!!
Mapo tofu was very tasty, the sauerkraut fish wasn’t as good as other places. Portions are quite generous and prices reasonable! Be prepared to wait - no bookings can be made.

We came to try the lunch specials. Seemed like a pretty good deal. That said, food on other tables looked better and more interesting. I'll come back to try ordering from the full menu. They handled the busy lunch crowd extremely well. I was impressed. The spicy and sour soup was ok, not really spicy. The broccoli beef was decent. The Mongolian beef had good flavor but was very chewy.

i was very dissatisfied in the food that cost 60 bucks for eggplant and fish dish ( on sun night at 530pm they were out of fresh fish so we got the frozen talapia sour krout it has no taste then it got substituted to crispy chicken which was fried unhealthy all batter and no meat i went there first time the fresh fish which was boiled and they bring it whole on top of noodles in a bowl with green beans was amazing so second time was horrible except for the eggplant but that one was very oily
