Madhurai Mess is a small, authentic South Tamilnadu restaurant with limited parking. The friendly staff patiently answer questions and provide excellent service. The Basha Briyani and Clay pot porota are highly recommended dishes with generous portions. The mutton biryani stands out for its real goat meat, and the clay pot chicken parotta is a must-try. The restaurant also offers a variety of flavorful dishes like nattu kochi soup, chicken ghee roast, and coconut shrimp.
The re-branding of Just Tiffins has improved the quality. The medu vada sambar is nice with the right amount of crisp, and the coconut chutney is worth trying. The sambar is good, and the onion uttapam is decent. The filter coffee is quite authentic. The service is pretty quick, although the ambience is basic.
The claypot parotta with chicken is a delicious dish served only during dine-in, with alternating layers of parotta and chicken curry. The chicken lollipop is a unique dish, though it could use a little more salt. The buttermilk or salted lassi is fresh and delicious. However, the dosa with chicken curry is disappointing, as the chicken curry is not good, and the chutney served is unsatisfactory.
