Update…one of our favorite spots and hands down, the very best matcha in Bellingham, and I’ve tried a lot of places!!

Firehouse has a super pleasant atmosphere inside and out, plus a very pleasant staff. Inside is a wood burning fireplace usually kept going in colder weather. Outside is an amazing sycamore tree which has been allowed to spread its branches: if the Buddha had lived in Bellingham this is the tree under which he would have been enlightened. A downside on the inside is that space is limited, and it can get crowded.The espresso drinks are good, not great. The menu is limited and neither inspired nor inspiring. Too, there is no way to find out what the day''s offering is either by internet or my phone.

As someone with multiple sclerosis, it is so great that the Fairhaven Performing Arts Center holds Pam Kuntz's Dance for People with PD and other Neurological Disorders class on Mondays. It's an exercise support group, in a way, which is great for me, as I find it difficult to find places or ways to exercise safely.& the coffee shop there is really good, too; good food & drinks, as well as really nice people.

This is honestly one of the best coffee places I've tried in Bellingham. Their coffee is strong without overpowering the flavors of whatever syrups you get in the coffee and the coffee is strong without being bitter in your drink. I love this place! They have a walk up window which I have gone to constantly when on walks with my dog. The staff is very friendly and have given my dog treats whenever we visit!

Note that the Firehouse Cafe is in the Firehouse Arts Center. I’m a coffee and baked goods snob so giving a perfect five-star for a coffee place is hard but I will say this, that the Firehouse coffee bar has the best coffee in Bellingham. They serve Fonte Coffee, out of Seattle, one of the best roasters on the West Coast. Their baked scones and goodies are excellent and created by Miquah, a local rising superstar baker! Atmosphere in the summer and winter are equally fun and enjoyable.

Along with the “Firehouse Cafe” servings divine coffees, scratch made soups & sandwiches, the Firehouse Arts & Events Centre is a lovely addition to our neighbourhood! Firehouse supports and presents all types of music, events etc. We especially enjoy the Jazz events and are excited to experience the upcoming Finnish Film Festival!!!

The Cafe on the corner is just the best. The location is incredible, as it's on Harris and right next to the bus stop. They have plenty of seating inside, a gorgeous and relaxing patio out back, or you can just walk up to the window on the sidewalk if you're trying to catch a coffee and a bus! My Airbnb was right next door by their Repertory theatre, so I found myself ordering 2 delicious Americanos and a freshly baked bran muffin each morning. The staff is wonderful, and you'll find many locals here gathering each day to visit and sip, play some guitar, or just hang for a while. Wonderful establishment, and I highly recommend you stop here! You'll thank me afterwards!
