This place has been one of Fairhaven’s best kept gems for as long as I’ve lived here. Originally just super teriyaki back when the super store was still next door. They still have some of the best quick teriyaki in town. And the self serve miso soup with green onions is a huge bonus with every meal. My favorite is the pork yakisoba. Or the chicken fried rice. And you get to choose your spice level I think it’s one through five with every dish., I always do spice level twoThe seating is a little tight inside especially when it gets busy, I personally recommend ordering to go or grabbing the outside table. I usually order run Nextdoor for beers(great selection) cigarettes and snacks for later, at the store while I wait. Don’t forget the miso soup it’s simple but amazing.
Everybody who whines about the owner hurting their feelings need to realize that the bad customer service is what makes the food the difference between a 9/10 and a 10/10. It's a nice cherry on top of culturalism, and I wouldn't get butterflies in my tummy every time I walk in the door if he was actually nice and welcoming. SPECIAL NUMBA TREE IS ALL YOU EVER NEED. EDIT: Coming back four years later to say this place sux compared to when it was that little dude with his harem of wives
Definitely not as good as they use to be but still......
Placed my order that comes with free soup and a side salad. They're out of soup. They're out of salad. They still charged me 16 bucks. Get it together. This place SUCKS compared to how it used to be.
Excellent Katsu
Food was good but it didn’t come with the gyoza, egg roll, or soup & salad like stated in the menu. Just rice and chicken
Always great food love the miso soup and free sides, worth traveling to get good food!
First visit, and we won’t be back unfortunately. The man handling orders tonight acted as though guests were bothering him by ordering. He was rude and answered questions with one word as a mumble. I watched him switch between front and back of house tasks without washing his hands or using gloves. The food was fine, but there are other local businesses who have better customer service and health protocols.
Food is great!
But the door man has a serious attitude. Watched him hawk over customers like they were stealing. Dude did the same thing when I put money in the tip jar... stopped and looked me up and down like I just stole. Maybe lay off the drugs?
Some mean katsu. New owners, still dank
I go there for the food, not customer service but they now answer the phone and are great.

I ordered the spicy chicken and a side of gyoza. The gyoza were well cooked with crispy edges, serving side was good and plenty of sauce for dipping! The teriyaki was very spicy but well flavored. I ordered a 5 out of 6 levels of spiciness. Service was good and I didn't have to wait long. Call ahead if you don't want to wait. The phone was ringing off the hook! I forgot to get the complimentary soup. Something to try when i go back.

The chicken katsu is really good still, but the service has started to decline in the past year or so. The prices have also gone up and at times the food isn't up to the great standards I held it at before.
Overall still a good place to go for teriyaki most of the time.

Had to wait 45 minutes for two #5 orders for $50. Once they were out, I wasn't told about the missing side items. When questioned about the missing side items, I was guilted that they are a small business and were out so I can have extra sauce that I wasn't interested in but not any of my money back. There is a nothing on the menu that tells you you are paying for sides you may or may not get. The chicken katsu was drowned in "katsu sauce" which wasn't actually katsu sauce but rather honey mustard. I watched them poor it from a big jug of honey mustard. Gyoza overcooked. Egg roll was floppy and the inside tasted terrible. Ribs a little dry but on point flavor wise. The rice was decent. 2 out of 5 stars.
