We lucked out and got a great table next to the window allowing us a wonderful view over the water. We started by sharing the crab cakes as an appetizer. It came with a very generous salad that we also shared. The crab cakes were very good. Some of the best we've had, and we have had our share of crab cakes. We each ordered the white wine mussels and, wow, they were fabulous. One of the reasons is, they come from Penn Cove which is a few minutes drive from the restaurant, so they just don't get any fresher. It was a decent portion. The wine, shallots, herbs, and lemon all combined to make an incredibly bright flavor.Service was good, and 4 stars is a fair rating for that. The big question is always, would I go back? Yes, I would, and will.

I love this restaurant. It has a special place in my heart. This is the first restaurant we went to upon moving to Washington and enjoyed the atmosphere and view is perfect, delicious food and friendly service. This is the perfect place to bring your family for lunch or dinner. Also, The ceviche is worth trying.

We ate here on a Friday night and the food and cocktails were quite good. We decided to come back the next night and made a reservation for 4:45pm, requesting a table by the windows. When we arrived we saw a table being cleaned, so of course we assumed that was for us. We were greeted by the hostesses and they said we could sit "over there" and one pointed a bit flippantly. "Over there" was a crowded booth against the wall at the opposite end of the room. When I asked about the table by the window, they said that was also reserved but for one of their VIP clients. We were completely taken aback at the manner in which this young lady spoke to us. My husband asked what makes VIP more important than us (she didn't answer). I guess our money, and the fact that we were repeat customers wasn't VIP enough for them. She also explained that a reservation isn't that but rather call-ahead seating. I reviewed my email confirmation and no where did it say that this was more of a call ahead than a reservation. These two hostesses couldn't have been more condescending or rude. We promptly left and took our business elsewhere. We will not be back and we will be sharing our experience with others as we are local. You can save your tables and snotty attitudes for your VIP customers.

**Food:**Our evening commenced with a serving of calamari, which, whilst accompanied by a delightfully tasteful sauce, proved rather underwhelming in both flavor and portion. At the princely sum of $23, one might expect more than twelve middling strips, each no more robust than a middle finger. Sadly, they lacked the culinary vivacity one anticipates from such a fare.My date selected the seafood pasta, a dish that, regrettably, bore little resemblance to its titular promise. What was presented could best be described as a disconcerting amalgam of spaghetti and curry, draped in an unsettling coconut-flavored sauce. The imposition of such a flavor upon what one might expect to be Italian pasta was nothing short of gastronomic heresy. At $32, the dish was an affront not merely to the palate but to the wallet as well.I, ever the enthusiast for traditional delights, opted for the white wine mussels, heralded on the menu as a choice "for the die-hard traditionalists." However, the dish that arrived was a grievous letdown, tasting predominantly of overcooked white wine tinged with what one could only describe as the essence of sea bile, overwhelmed by an excess of garlic. The only respite was found in the provided bread, which, ironically devoid of garlic itself, became somewhat palatable when used to sop the garlicky broth.**Service:**While my date discovered an un-debearded mussel amidst her meal—a clear oversight in culinary preparation—the response to such a faux pas was nonexistent, a clear dereliction of the service one might expect at a dining establishment of repute. Given that, the young ladies were attentive to our needs in refreshment, and providing the check.**Atmosphere:**Despite the culinary misadventures, the ambiance of the establishment carried a whisper of charm, sadly overshadowed by the disheartening fare.In summation, while one may venture to a dining establishment in pursuit of culinary delight, our experience was marred by dishes that seemed to mock the very essence of haute cuisine. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the 2021 Clean Slate Riesling, a testament to the vintner's craft, and a crisp contrast to the evening's less palatable offerings. One hopes for a return to form, where the promise of excellence is not only met but exceeded. We deliberated the prospect of revisiting the establishment in future times to sample additional culinary offerings. Whilst the vista provided by the restaurant is indeed splendid, it regrettably does not compensate for the extravagant cost nor the dissatisfaction wrought by the meals served. With such underwhelming fare, we might find better use in boiling the seawater upon which the restaurant sits, using the $32 as mere garnish to enhance the flavor.Frustration, is a mere understatement to how I feel about this location. We will not be returning.

What a treat! Friendly staff and great food. They seem to specialize in mussels. My sister ordered mussels in a bourbon sauce with mushrooms and spinach. Two large pieces of garlic bread. I had crab cakes with a Ceasars salad. We enjoyed! Topped it off with a berry crisp and scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yummy!! Place being right on the water was a plus.

Had a great time at Front Street Grill over the weekend! Seriously, the views are just as good as the food, which is saying a lot because the seafood here is top-notch. Sat outside, overlooking Penn Cove, and it was stunning – made the food taste even better, if that's possible. We tried a few seafood dishes and each was better than the last; fresh, flavorful, and just perfectly cooked. Prices were reasonable for the quality and the setting. It's a chill spot, especially if you can catch a sunset. Definitely going back the next time I'm in Coupeville!Dietary restrictions: Fresh seafood

Beautiful place but food was “okay”. I was excited to chow down on local mussel fair but, unfortunately this restaurant doesn’t prep them very well despite offering them in multiple ways. They’re quit pricey as well….
