Best Indian food I've tasted in WA! My hubs & I went there on a whim and was pleasantly surprised with every bite. At first we weren't hungry enough for a buffet however, the spread was visually stunning that I'm so glad we jumped in. We absolutely loved the mezze sampler appetizers, which was delightfully light. The Manchurian gobi was crispy and savory. I'm not a vegetarian but the available options convinced me that perhaps I could be about that life. As anticipated there was an abundance of curry but I stayed faithful to butter chicken. My gosh the chicken was tender and smooth. The dessert options were minimal but still hit the spot, specifically the carrot halwa paired with some naan. Don't doubt... Just do it!!!

Wow!! That's the best way to describe the food here. It was phenomenal! So flavorful and delicious. As a general rule, I find that you can tell a lot about a restaurant by the demographics of the diners and this place proved that true. It is Ramadan, so I suspect that's why there were a lot of people coming in late in the evening here after sunset. This was the best Indian food I've ever had. I had the angara butter chicken and the three cheese naan. The flavor was just amazing, a great blend of spices. Restaurants inside hotels are often nothing special, but this one was such a nice surprise. So glad I read the reviews here on Yelp because they were accurate! Five star food for sure! There were several take out orders being picked up while I was dining as well. (The only thing I would change is that there's no hostess stand when you enter. I watched several people come in and look around trying to figure out where to check-in. Would be good to have someone near the entrance to greet people.)

The food is very expensive for its taste. The biryani’s were below average. Service is just ok. The server was busy on the phone.

Kanishkas buffet this weekend was a culinary delight with delectable lamb curry, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, chicken chilli, and gajar halwa all being my favorite dishes. I couldn’t try everything else as it was too much of a spread for me, but I enjoyed all the dishes I tried. Ambience was pleasant. The waiters were friendly. Worth the price of 39.99$!

We had an amazing weekend dinner at Kanishka at Sheraton Hotel Des Moines, with all our family from Virginia present with us. It was a celebration that only got better because of the beautiful ambience of the restaurant and the tempting array of food they offered. I loved the succulent chicken tikka and the crispy hot fish pakoras! They chicken tikka masala was made to perfection and the best I’ve ever had so far. Their staff was courteous and the owner himself was there to ensure everything was going smooth. He asked us for our opinion and we willingly gave him our honest feedback. We will definitely come back Yash. Thank you for a memorable evening!

I went to the Iftaar / Holi special buffet at Kanishka’s new location in Des Moines. My first impression was that the ambience was far better than expected and the staff was super friendly upon my entering the premises! The food was a lavish spread of a huge span of dishes, and I loced everything I tried! The best part was there was a lot for vegetarians too and that is probably the reason I'll definitely come back soon.

We had the dinner buffet during a weekend and the food was good, very deliciousThe service was lacking for the fact that there was no one to greet the guests and escort them to a tableEven if you enter and stand by the door waiting for someone, no one comesWe had to go find a waiter and ask them to seat usSecondly the seating and food arrangement is a bit weird, the restrooms are located between the buffet and the dinner tablesThirdly, there was no place where we could see the price of the buffet, because no menu was providedFourthly, it seemed expensive for the quality and quantity of food items at the buffet$40 per person before taxes, is a bit high with that quality of service and food itemsParking: Parking is shared with the Four Seasons hotel, and so that might create problems when the hotel is full

Went to Kanishka at the De Moines location last Friday. Loved the food, the ambience, and the service. The naans were freshly made. The bill was pricey. $39.99 per head for the buffet. I didn't know the prices changed. I was expecting $30 per head.
