We got the hay smoked tuna, the carrots and the fall vegetable group to start. All were SO amazing - way beyond our expectations. I just wish bread came with it to sop up the wonderful sauces. We got 3 different pizzas and I heard all were great. I, personally, found the green sauce with salami pizza so delicious, I didn't try any other kind. The service was welcoming, attentive, but not cloying, and kind. My only advice is, get your reservations in early.
We had a wonderful meal at Houlme and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Orcas island. The food feels unique and creative but not so experimental that it sacrifices being plain delicious and something you would want to eat often. I loved a dish called Fall Things and the sourdough pizza crust--I wish I took a picture of the menu so I could describe these better but you can't go wrong with them--the pizza version we had was topped with cheese, caramelized onions...
Blown away by the incredible service and food. We had the carrots with smoked yoghurt, the summer things with the succulent egg dusted with dill, pizza, and the buttermilk ice cream. Every bite was delicious and the staff couldn't have been nicer. I cannot wait to comeback.
