While most of the food was good the service was not. Hostess was confused about where we were sitting. It took much too long for the server to come to the table. Then long waits for courses. And my pet peeve - I had ordered a glass of wine with my entree that didn’t come with the food. I asked two different people to bring it. Then the hostess brought the wrong wine. When it finally came I’d had the food for 10 minutes. No excuse for that. They should have comped the wine (and I should have pushed for that but didn’t).

We had been looking forward to visiting Orcas Island for years, and as part of our long-anticipated trip, we chose this restaurant for a special family dinner. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. To start with the positive: our waitress was kind, attentive, and did her best to make us feel welcome. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The wait for food was extremely long—over 90 minutes—and when our meals finally arrived, they were cold, overcooked, and lacked seasoning. Most disappointing was the unwelcoming attitude we encountered at the front of house. Despite having well-behaved children and dining out regularly as a family, we were met with a clear sense that families with kids were not embraced here. It was an unfortunate tone that colored the entire evening. We truly wanted to enjoy our time here, but based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend it for families looking for a warm and enjoyable dining experience.

Best meal of our trip (including all the fab places in Seattle). Gorgeous waterfront setting, incredible cocktails, delicious locally sourced food and the loveliest waiter Ben (who couldn’t do enough for us and went the extra mile to make sure our evening was special, thank you). Also a perfect place to view a spectator Orcas Island sunset. A night to remember.

Beef was wonderfully cooked but served quite cool and had to rush to eat before the fat congealed. There was a strip of fat with some grizzle down the middle that the wife didn’t appreciate. Bread pretty pricey with a quarter round with jam for $15. Still one of the finest dining experiences on Orcas although there’s a lot of babies and small kids so your experience may vary considerably depending on what kids are in your area.

Orcas needs good restaurants and this one is so beautifully situated. The food was good, even if the menu is limited. But the service was terrible…inattentive, slow and not deft (stacking plates, etc).

Excellent dinner served by friendly staff. Great flavors in the fish and chicken dishes as well as the beet salads. Very attentive to celiac/gluten-free diet.

Terrible experience before we even ordered. We had a reservation for dinner on Friday at 5:30pm. When we arrived, only one table was taken inside the restaurant. We were shown to a table, also inside. We asked to be seated by the window. There were at least 4 tables there and none taken. The hostess kept repeating “this is the table we have chosen for you.” During our approximately 15 minutes there, no one else arrived. We left. I decided to write them an email for an explanation. The response I got back was that since I didn’t “request a table in the sunroom”, we couldn’t be seated there. As it was our first time there, how was I to know? Like it was my fault??? Frankly, I wouldn’t give my business to a restaurant that has different priorities than customer service.

If zero stars were an option...
We arrived at 4:45 pm for our 5:00 reservation. We walked up to the door where a girl popped her head out to ask what we wanted. We told her we had dinner reservations. She said they don't open until 5. We asked if we could come inside to get a drink while we waited. She said no and that the bar wasn't open.
It was 48 degrees out. Where we are from is about 68 degrees right now. So we can't offer anything above a one star. When customers get on a plane to visit an island, you should at least allow them inside to buy a drink and sit in a corner so they didn't freeze outside waiting for you to open. That's lame.

We had an amazing dinner experience at the bar at the Inn at Ship Bay. Lucy, the bartender was so knowledgeable and had great taste in music. The view was incredible and the food even better. We had the halibut and the pear salad and both were perfectly prepared. We would highly recommended!

The food! Wonderfully creative combinations, was able to go against my instincts and try things that I normally wouldn't and how phenomenally surprise I was. Pear soup!

Great views and courteous staff - ask for a bar room table from the dining room manager. Excellent 5G coverage for remote working - full bars of service in Moran State Park too, or via starlink. Try the 18% acidity house soda.?

I can't say enough about our exceptional dinner here. Our group of four are foodies and every dish was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the setting sublime! We arrived early and enjoyed the lovely water view outside and were warmly welcomed inside by the hostess. Our server, Ben, was very professional, knowledgeable and engaging! Don't miss the opportunity to dine here -- you won't be disappointed!
