We have been to this restaurant a few times. The food is good. We have had some exceptional this but we have also had some mediocre stuff. Nothing bad just not impressive, but the thing they need to work on is service. It's ok at best and sometimes down right bad. Servers spending more time socializing them serving customers. We probably will go back next season. Maybe they will get it worked out.

The mushroom/bok choy omelet was good, unfortunately the same cannot be said about the service.
Had late lunch reservations, upon arrival, no one was around to seat us. Not sure why reservations were needed when there were only 3 occupied tables & no one at the reservation stand. The hostess finally showed up 15 minutes later to seat us. No one to serve us. Flagged someone down who had the bartender wait on us. Took our order, dropped off the food, closed out the check. That's all folks.
It was the end of the season, so maybe that's why the staff really could care less about hospitality. The bill was not worth the terrible lack of service & from some of the other reviews, non-service seems to be the norm.
Would be nice for this cafe to live up to its name & turn over a new leaf in the service department.

New Leaf is always such a treat when visiting Orcas Island. Fantastic food and service - with a view! You cannot go wrong with anything you order here. My personal fave is their Eggs Benedict. Tangy, creamy hollandaise sauce. Eggs poached to perfection. And the potatoes, crisp and mouthwatering. I love this place! ❤️
We had brunch here and loved it. My husband had the Eggs Benedict and I had the Wild Mushroom Omelette and both were perfectly prepared. The Omelette had sun dried tomatoes which added a nice flavor. We definitely recommend !

Monday morning brunch had a short wait late in September - the sign of a good place on the Island. The Waffle with buttermilk syrup was outstanding and the 2 egg classic was spot on - great local hot sauce and incredible home fries.

Will certainly return. Tried their corn beef hash. Its a bit different, with slices of brisket. Very good.
My wife and I ate here for both of their brunch and dinner service. Everything was amazing. The staff was super friendly and the food came out quickly. I would say the restaurant took other guests feedback and has improved a lot since the other reviews were posted earlier this year.
We highly recommend that you make reservations in advance in order to avoid long wait times for the walk-ins. In my opinion, this is the best restaurant on this side of the island. We would come back here again.

Dinner experience: Super food completely destroyed by cramming us in a table meant for one person in a loud room. Worst table ever. . The waitstaff kept bumping into us the table was so tight. Our waiter was excellent. Shame on them for not making appropriate room… food was good but not up to quality for the price. 2 stars for dinner Breakfast experience: amazing food, service, and lovely view in the main part of the restaurant. 5 stars for breakfast! Benedicts were fantastic!
