We visit Orcas Island annually. Orcas winery was having a fall festival so we stopped in. They were not allowing any tasting stating they were too busy. However they weren’t busy in the least. So we ordered 2 glasses of wine. They were very small pours and were very expensive, $15 each! The wine quality was marginal at best. I’ve paid that price for high end wines, but sadly, these wines were not of the caliber to justify the price. I will not be coming back.

We were led to believe that there was a good food selection here, but when we arrived it was only bags of chips and a few options for packaged meat and cheeses. The wine flight was pricey($26) and almost good enough, but it is not grown on Orcas Island. The chilled red wine was the best and the others were okay. The location has a nice view, but not much shade and only a port-a-potty for a bathroom.

Cute winery with a pretty view, small area for kids to play but definitely not for little kids or need lots of supervision. The only bathroom was a portable, but the staff was friendly and so was the dog!

i’ve photographed a couple weddings at orcas island winery and it’s a lovely spot. the winery has a wide lawn for sipping wine and hanging out, a beautiful venue for weddings or events. it’s intimate without feeling small, stylish without trying too hard. perfect place to visit for a slow afternoon or to rent for a celebration that feels relaxed and local. There are many special places on Orcas, but the Orcas Island Winery is at the top of the list for my wife and I. For the last four years we have always found the wine to be unique, delicious, and something wonderful to share with those who have never been. The quiet atmosphere with a wonderful view is always a pleasant way to enjoy a flight.
We couldn’t recommend Orcas Island Winery enough. We are always so excited to bring friends and family to share in the wonderful creations Wes and Arthur had concocted.
